| We got a guinea pig! Yay, I'm happy!
No one in my family really wants a dog (we like them, just not to own), and about all of us want a cat but 4 of us are allergic (including me). We've had a parrot (thats older than me) that was given to us by our aunt, it's really loud and annoying but my sister likes it so it's more like her pet. And we have a box turtle but he's pretty boring, it's only kind of cool to watch him chomp his food.
But now we have a guinea pig, one of the best pets ever! Perfect size, super cute, super friendly, inexpensive, fairly active but doesnt get into trouble, not too loud but not silent, easy to care for, just wonderful! We got her from a family at our chruch (she is only like 1 year old though), they named her Twix but we didn't like that so we renamed her Josie (but we won't tell them that, hehe).
I love her so much already, I may be able to get some pictures soon. The family she lived with before was pretty quiet, and there are always a lot of people at my house so she gets pretty nervous (though guinea pigs are kinda like that already). She seems to like me though, but I hope she gets used to more people cause we'll probably play with her a lot. |

| Don't ignore your box turtle now!
But yes, I've had two guinea pigs in my lifetime. They don't live forever, but they're adoreable and so cute. So many relaxing memories of sitting with a lump of fuzz on a blanket on my lap. Good times.
Guinea pigs are nervous, but I've seen some love attention. Best bet would be to ease her into her new circumstance. I've seen guinea pigs freak out because of fifteen hands grasping them at once.
Guinea pigs are soft and cute, but aren't cuddly like puppies and not as acrobatic as rats. Always support the guinea pig's bum, I cringe when I see people lift them up like babies. Let the guinea always be right side up.
You probably know all this, just rambling! Guinea pigs really are a great compromise for families that don't want a dog or a cat! They're cute, cuddly, and manageable!

| Guinea Pigs? We have 23 of those in our basement. Actually, they're begging for food right now.
Names: JJ, Rosie, Jenny, Cammy, Cocco, Sam, Jimmy, Hershey, Gloria, Joy, Miss Snuggles, Jamie, Jasmine, Sarah, Pumpkin, Mocha, Lucy, Bobby, Skittles, Snickers, Henry, and we've pet-sitting Hermione. I'm drawing a blank on one of the names... there are too many to remember them all. But they are not mine! They are my little sisters. I have the rabbits, remember?
