so how would one go about increasing and decreasing the volume and what have you?

The normal volume. It's waht would be considered the gain. You might want to try a different amp.

ok..well, in my research of amps, i came across a company called "Univox" while searching Vox. Anybody ever heard of this company, and if so, is it some little cheap amp company...because i've found some cheap tube amps...
