Interesting! I noticed it has a headstock like a classical but a heel like a steel string. Looks good.

did it take a long time to learn that?

Building your own guitar is...tough. If you get the frets a little bit off, there will be trouble...that is why i never considered getting one of those 'Build It Yourself' guitars. Do you plan on building your own?

I use my Hofner classical guitar as a reference for the model.

No, I don't think I'll try actually building a real guitar anytime soon :P

You, sir, should get one of the kits that has the fretwire pre-installed. Then, of course, you still have to worry about all those other low-tolerance measurements that can mess things up greatly.

Not bad. Did you build in the hollow area, or did you use a boolean operation? (Hopefully you didn't, they are messy )

Boolean operations are the last thing I'd ever think of. Not only they create a mess making it harder to further edit the mesh, they also often create artifacts in smoothing/texturing/rendering.

And I agree as well. I use 3D Studio Max 5. Havn't tried 6 yet. Fantastic program, when it comes to polies - I'm not much of a nurbs or spline guy, so that's fine with me.

3D Studio Max's splines and nurbs are good, but could be better. I personally, like Rhino3D when it comes to nurbs modelling.
But for poly modelling, MAX all the way
