Name: Nate (AKA KeyboardFreak)

Age: 19

Years Playing: 4ish? Maybe 5. I don't really remember.

Accoustic or Electric? I play both and enjoy playing both.

Current Keyboard(s): Roland XV-88, Roland AX-1, Yamaha Clavinova at church (don't know model number), various acoustics at school including a Steinway that I play during my lessons.

Favorite Sound(s): Rhodes and Wurlitzer... especially with tremolo.

Longest It Took You Learn A Song: Learn a song well? Probably about six months.

What Song Was It: Three Preludes for Piano by Kent Kennan. A twentieth-century piece of piano music that I learned last semester and played this semester for a recital.

Hardest Song to Play: See above.

Favorite Song to Play: Currently In Christ Alone by Stuart Townend. It's a beautiful song. I have too many favorite songs, though.

Favorite Key to Play In: Db

Least Favorite Key to Play In: Ab

Transposer (yes or no): Sure, when it is helpful. Often, I will learn a song well in one key and then find out that the key I learned it in is difficult for our congregation to sing to, so I'll put on the transposer on our Clavinova and just play as I'm used to playing.

How Many Songs Have You Written: 4 or 5.

Do You Play In A Band: Yes.

How Many Songs Can You Play: Too many to count.

Can You Sing And Play: Yes.

Dream Keyboard: A real Wurlitzer 200A.

Your Style: Folk-rock most of the time.

Biggest Influence: Rich Mullins, and Josh Moore from Caedmon's Call.

In His love,
Nate

Age: 13

Years Playing: I once took lessons when I was 7. I then quit after a month of learning. My older sister is a very avid pianist, having played for at least 15+ years. I picked up a bit from her. But recently, in the past 4 months or so, I re-discovered piano playing. Picked it up from my own knowledge of theory and guitar playing.

Accoustic or Electric?: I prefer an acoustic piano, but whatever works

Current Keyboard(s): An old Baldwin Upright.

Favorite Sound(s): Just the piano sound. I like playing some rock organ too

Longest It Took You Learn A Song: I don't know

What Song Was It: see above

Favorite Song to Play: Just whatever I come up with.

Favorite Key to Play In: Tonally, there's not a ton of difference, but I like C 'cuz it's easy.

How Many Songs Have You Written: No full songs. Fragments, yes.

Do You Play In A Band: Nope

Can You Sing And Play: Depends on the simplicity of what I'm playing. Generally, no

Dream Keyboard: Ask me again when I have some more understanding of keyboards. I love playing grand pianos in large open rooms, though.

Your Style: I'm not quite sure yet. All different styles.

Biggest Influence: My sister.

Accoustic or Electric?: doesn't matter to me, as long as it works

Current Keyboard(s): um...i not really sure, and for me to be sure it'd require some effort to look across the hall and see what kind i have. and if you now me well, you'll know im too lazy to go check.

Favorite Sound(s): grand piano

Longest It Took You Learn A Song: um about a month prob

What Song Was It: some prelude

Hardest Song to Play: see above

How Many Songs Can You Play: um, there's way to many to keep count

Can You Sing And Play: yeppers, but the singing sucks

Dream Keyboard: don't have one

Your Style: don't really have one, i like playing just about anything

Biggest Influence: um no one really, i just decided one day that i wanted to play piano, and i liked it so im still playing it.
