When I was young(er)

I was cleaning my room the other day when I found this old notebook of poems from when I was 11-13. I thought It'd be fun to share one of them with you (NOTE: It's not very good)

How can I tell them about the Lord
Without pulling out my hair?

They don't care how much you know
Till they know how much you care

They need the love of God,
But how do I give it?

To give that kind of love
You have got to live it

It I can't answer their questions
Should I just give up?

Tell them "I don't know"
Then go home and look it up

If they don't accept Christ
What do I do?

They're rejecting Christ
But not rejecting you

How do I keep from saying
Something I'll later doubt?

God to god in prayer
And He'll put words in your mouth

What's the most effective way
To lead them to my Savior?

A good life's the best sermon
So be on your best behavior

The End!

I've hit a dry spell in my writing (creative juices aren't flowing) so I decided to post another poem from back in the day. I remember sitting in my social studies class in the 7th grade writing this one. The very last line was written by my friend Amber after she read it.

Zacchaeus up in the tree
Climbed all the way up just to see
Jesus Christ walking down the road
For in his heart was a heavy load.
Jesus looked up from the growing crowd
Told Zacchaeus to get down.
"I'm eating at your house today."
The Pharisees had a lot to say.
"He's a thief, he steals all our tax!"
But Jesus told them to relax
"As you go to the doctor when you don't feel well,
So Have I come to save the lost from hell."

...and to eat some chicken

The end.

another one

I wrote this one in the 7th grade, also. It's about my best friend, although 4 years ago when I wrote it he was just an aquaintance and we were getting to be pretty good friends and I had the biggest crush on him...

Anyways, I never told him I used to have a crush on him until last year. We had a big laugh over that. So here's the limerick:

There once was a girl named Tunrade
Her friend, he was such a hottie
His name was Jay
He was a-okay
And he had a really nice body
