Jeremiah 2:11

Jeremiah 2:11 - Has any nation ever exchanged its gods for another god, even though its gods are nothing? Yet my people have exchanged their glorious God for worthless idols!

What am I replacing God with? As a Canadian citizen, I put trust in my freedoms as a citizen of Canada rather that in the freedoms as a citizen of heaven. I place worship above Him who I should be worshiping. I have a hard time praying for a long time, but can play on the computer or videogames for hours. Even the activities I do must often change from day to day, yet spending time with God is never one of the choices. God is so glorious, I need to spend time with Him. I need to dig into His Word, and let Him mold me. Singing and talking about putting God first is one thing. Now is the time to actually do it.

Thanks for your honesty and for giving each of us that reminder.

We can sit for hours in front of the TV or computer but if the Sunday sermon runs more that 20 minutes, we are yawning or falling asleep and ready to make a break for it. We will fill stadiums and arenas to jump up and down, yelling ourselves hoarse for hours on end for our favorite sports team, but on Sunday morning we politely sit in our pews and quitely sing those great praise songs. Doesn't God deserve so much more from us?

Regardless of what we say with our lips, how we spend our time and our money speaks much more loudly about our true relationship with God. If we claim Christ with our lips, shouldn't the way we live reflect it?

So very true!!!!!!!!!! I find that so much with the American Church in general. We can talk the talk but so few are actually walking the walk, myself included.

I think the challenge for us is to find out how we can worship Him through the things we do enjoy. Yes, God does deserve to be pleased even through the things that pleases us.

I don't think it is a challenge at all to worship God through they things we enjoy. We can worship God in everything we do if we do it for God.

"undefinedundefinedundefined"

I am seeing this appear in quite a few people's posts. What exactly is the deal with 'undefined'?
