White Rose am I, chosen for purity;
O God why--both evil and good?


My blossom breathes boldly: Holy, Holy, Holy!
Yet my thistles thrash through, spilling blood.


A beautiful bloom destined by dynamic Deity;
Who'd prick pious palms if I could.


Thornless White Rose--I can never be.
