I used to be a FM but now I'm AOG for the last 1 year...But I really loved it, I still consider myself a FM. The FM I went to was a relatively charismatic one. we didn't have rolling in the isles, or snake handling, or even that much public tongue speaking, But We had some really great God moments. I love FM I prolly will go back later...

I am Free Methodist. I've been a Free Methodist all my life. My dad is even ordained in the FM conference. I serve on the worship team at my church, the only guitarist. I work at a Free Methodist camp even. Wow, I really am a complete Free Methodist.

The Methodists split many years ago over a few issues that have long since gone away: pew rental and slavery. Of course new issues have come up, but that was the spin as taught to me by both the UM and FM churches.

Pew rental was a form of "fund raising" inside the Methodist Church that involved paying for your pew each week. Some of the people didn't like that and left.

Slavery- well you should understand that. Many Methodist did not want to rock the boat by taking a stand on the issue. Others did- and left.

Those who left over both issues managed to gather somehow and form Free Methodism.
