| Packet salad, but tip it into a bowl before you go and say you made it.

| Potato salad is a given. With dill pickles. Don't you ever put no sweet pickles in there and still have the audacity to call it potato salad. |

| Agreed, Andrew.
Chips (variety!), coleslaw (no, I don't personally like it, but it's easy), or fruit. A cold watermelon in the middle of the summer is always fun, too. You could bring ice cream or ice cream cake.

| I agree with Andrew on the potato salad thing. But in order for it to be a real BBQ there has to be three different kinds (at least) of potato salad. Any less and it gets downgraded to a picnic. If there's no potato salad then it's more or less just a bunch of people eating stuff.
yeah just give me a plate full of dead animal and potato salad and I'm happy. well until I run out and then it's time to get more. And don't forget the coolers full of pop. about four will do. (well for my churches annual bbq's in the park anyways)

| Yes, there needs to be at least three kinds of potato salad. Personally, my favorite combination is hot german potato salad, new potato salad, and traditional potato salad, but that's beside the point.
Another great thing to bring would be materials for berry shortcake, of a big bowl full of berry trifle, if it needs to be made ahead of time. Both are basically cake of some sort, whipped cream, sugar, and berries (or most other fruits,if need be), and are rather easy to make. |

| heresy! potato salad with pickles in it is *not* of God. :P
Macaroni salad is essential. And it shouldn't be sweet, like that nasty reesers crap.
Ingredients:
Macaroni
eggs
onions
celery
tuna
mayo
so simple, yet so delicious. I need some for lunch now. Dangit! |
