And don't deny the child living deep inside
Open your eyes and find

It's in your hands now
Just open up your eyes

Ahh yes.. the fingers.. one time I was fixing my guitar case with hot glue and I was putting my left hand fingers in the glue and it didn't matter because I could not feel the hot glue.. then I forgot and I put my thumb in it and burnt my thumb! I was like.. Wow. I am stupid! The feeling lackage (lol) comes in handy though.. especially when you are trying to freak people out.. "Dare me to touch that hot pan?" "Are you stupid?" "Yes, as a matter of fact I am" *touch the hot pan* other person tries it.. you know the rest.. LOL! *Raises glass full of milk* Here's to being a guitarist!

1) When you obtain back problems from sitting in a strumming position
2) When you have a red stripe-mark across your shoulder
3) When the fingertips of your left hand are greenish-black
4) You walk around with a pick in your mouth
5) You are NEVER.....EVER...without a guitar pick
6) You can name the best guitarist in every town for miles
7) Your dog and cat fear your guitar almost as much as they fear you
8) You can't sleep until you play guitar for a certain amount of time
9) You have the guitar of your dreams, but still want another, and another...
10) You've educated your friends on guitar brands, models, players, etc. (even the ones with no interest in guitar).
11) You have a reputation for being a 'guitar lover'

I'm on a roll...but i have to stop there...lol....

It's true...being obsessed is great!

when you can go into a guitar store to buy strings, and end up playing guitars for 2 hours...and consider it a short trip

That's me so much it's sickening. Heh, I also buy another $90 or so worth of toys on my string buying trips.....I'm never gonna get another guitar like that...I could live in a guitar store though!

Speaking of babies -- real babies, that is -- you know you're a guitarist when, after the birth of your first child, it only takes a few days before you start shopping for the perfect beginner guitar for a 5-year old. Might as well get a head start on things!

You know you're a mature guitarist when you realize that your child will probably be better off learning to play from someone who is a real guitarist, instead of a hack like her dad.

You'll all know what I mean eventually.

Um...this is a sign of something, but I don't think it's necessarily of being a guitarist!

I was in high school and I went into a local pawn shop. I saw on the wall the most beautiful thing I had ever laid eyes on. It was a Mako Les Paul Copy. Now at the time I didn't know it was a knock off nor did I know what a Les Paul was. I knew I had to have that guitar. I ended up getting it given to me as a present for graduation. I had other guitars at the time but I didn't really consider learning how to play a guitar until I saw that Black Mako LP copy. I still have the guitar 17 years later. It has a broken truss rod and I never play it but it will stay in my collection for sentimental reasons. Not only did it inspire me to learn to play rather than just collect, but my girlfriend at the time bought it for me as a graduation present. Well, as it should be...I married her. I had to ya know? She has since given up buying me guitars and now believes that having more than one acoustic and one electric is crazy and a waste. I shoulda known. After all...she didn't buy me a Gibson....shame. Ps:I just noticed that the Mako is hanging on the wall to the left of my shoulder in my avatar pic. Get the magnifying glass out

that's beautiful!

I wish I had a romance story about my guitar. But I had to trade in my Hamer Slammer Vector for a B.C. Rich Platinum Series Mockingbird (of course, I had to pay a little on top of the Hamer). It's sad when you have to condemn your guitar to a life of uncertainty, just to get a better one. But that's life...

Yeah, I was going to say when I started carrying not one, but TWO picks in my wallet, just in case!
