Jeremy Camp Debuts at No. 1 - sells over 19k first week

BEC Recordings singer/songwriter Jeremy Camp released his new project Carried Me: The Worship Project February 10th, scanning a total of 19,331 units in its first week. Over 14,200 units were sold in the Christian market alone. The CD debuted at No. 1 on the Top Christian Charts and No. 2 on the Top Current Contemporary Christian Charts, marking Carried Me the highest single week scans ever for a BEC Recordings artist.

This outstanding debut week arrives on the heels of the continuous impact of Stay, Camp's debut project, still holding strong in sales and scanning over 4,300 units this week alone. As of this month, Stay has sold over 200,000 units since its release September of 2002. Over 103,000 of those units were sold in the second half of 2003 alone, averaging over 4,000 units scanned a week. Stay continues to scan that average weekly. Stay has also produced four No. 1 hits, with the current hit "Right Here" still at the top of the charts, holding the top spot four weeks in a row for CRW and two weeks in a row for R&R.

"Jeremy's story continues," exclaims Brandon Ebel, President, BEC Recordings/Tooth & Nail Records. "God has blessed him with a new wife, and this album is an extension of his faith. We all believe in him and are very excited about what's to come. EMI CMG and Chordant have truly rallied around this project and we deeply appreciate all of their efforts. We believe Jeremy will continue to be a core artist in the years to come."

Since the start of the new year, there has been vast coverage of Camp in such outlets as Billboard, CCM, Christian Retailing, Christian Music Planet, ChristianMusicToday.com, and many more. R&R tapped Camp as the Top Act for 2003 in their New Artist of the Year survey and CRW highlighted him as their top CHR Artist of the Year for 2003 and an artist profile in their 2/9 issue.

Billboard Magazine (1/17/04):
"These powerful worship songs beautifully showcase Camp's passionate voice and intimate style. (Camp is) "One of the most compelling vocalists to emerge in recent years . and this voice is complemented by a potent arsenal of songs. In a market crowded with praise and worship music, Camp surely stands out with this worthy effort."

CCM (3/04):
"Jeremy Camp's .latest, Carried Me: The Worship Project, will go down as another modern worship milestone. This is worship at its most passionate and a welcome boost to the genre."

WorshipMusic.com (2/04):
"Grab this worship CD, it comes straight from the heart. This album is sure to offer a refreshing look at worship and offer fans what they have been asking for."

Christian Retailing (2/16/04):
"Carried Me clearly shows that Camp is a talent that should be here to stay."

With four Dove nominations, his upcoming DVD "In24" coming this April and the highly anticipated fall release of his next studio project, Camp has quite a 2004 ahead of him. This week and through April, Camp continues as main support on the highly successful Adoration Tour with Newsboys and Rebecca St. James. In fact, just in its first week out, the tour sold out its first five shows, playing to over 20,000 people. Camp will then hit many of the festival main stages this summer. Check out his website for the most current tour dates.

Very solid album. Had it for a few weeks now and still listen to it daily. His original songs are fantastic and his covers of other artists' songs are nicely done in his own style as well. Jeremy Camp won't be fading out any time soon..
