| The tides have
changed
but honestly,
they are the
same old tides
they ever were
can't the old ones
retire
give somone else
a chance?
But they struggle on
submerged in their pride
and arrogance

this darkness

If I dressed you

when did you

Life's petty issues
blow strong. |

I stare into the darkness
what is that?
I can't tell
I am dreaming again
but wait, I am not asleep
I shouldn't have taken
that joint this afternoon
should I?
I took one yesterday
I like it better in dreamland
but I don't know what is reality anymore
and what isn't
it's alright though,
right?
I mean, everyone says,
whatever feels good
but sometimes...
I wonder
when it just hurts
and I can't make it go away
no matter what I do
and the image goes away
and I sitting in my room
again

Shadows dance
in the flickering firelight
a fiddle plays across
the camp
Snores sound from
the wagon near me
I sigh, insomnia
plagues me
my daughter is asleep
by the fire,
her curls golden
and soft
What had I gotten
myself into?
And the shadows look
like Indians
and the sparks
like wolves. |

<marquee> It's like that there's a music, playing in your ear And I'm listening, and I'm listening, and then I disappear And then I feel a change, like a fire deep inside Something bursting me wide open, impossible to hide And suddenly I'm flying, flying like a bird Like Electricity, electricity Sparks inside of me, and I'm free, I'm free </marquee> |

Sitting here
I stare at the knife
its blade glints
I can almost hear a voice
in my head
repeating over and over do it
and I resist
but I know my
resolve
won't last for
eternity
and I sigh
what's the point in
resisting tonight?
hope for tomorrow?
I don't have any.
Hope for next week?
I don't have much.
I am trying to survive
day by day
and it doesn't always work
and the blade lowers
closer to my skin

| lol..thx, Hudder. Always need helpful friends...haha.
I stand there
my ears ringing
my throat sore
I just can't shut up
I can't be good
I must yell back
til we fall to cursing
then we stop,
both upset
beyond thinking
and I sit on my bed
and cry
and they leave and talk about me
for hours
I am nothing again
I am just rebellion
and everything bad
there is no trust
in their words
and no love
in their eyes
I am sick
of trying so hard
just to cry
when they
don't care
I am tired
of their
curses
their anger
their hateful
eyes
that cause a shiver
down my back
so I head for the bathroom
and the pain
that helps me forget
wow, that sounds so depressed |

| FYI: It's still me, just a name change...only one, I promise!!
I watch her through
the window
and tears
roll down my face
I watch her laugh
and grin
in place that
I should have been
I must walk through there
but I wish I didn't have
too
the pain hits me
like a knife
every time I pass
She doesn't care,
or doesn't see
the grief she's putting
me through
all she cares about
is her new-found friends
the ones that are supposed
to be mine.
I really shouldn't care
but she goes on
and on
I have to hear
the gossip every
day
that I should be telling her
I can't say anything
I can't tell her
how I feel
cause then she would
get depressed and
down
and my life would be
a living hell.
So I live on in my
half-existence
Waiting, watching, for her
fall from favor. |

| "Wisdom"
What is wisdom
that men labor
after it?
What is wisdom
that men kill
for it?
Is it knowing
God's word?
Or it is more,
my friend,
is it more?
Solomon desired it
more than anything else
Prophets praised it
and kings paid for it
Intellect is lauded
in our world today
but does intellectual learning
equal wisdom's value?
Wisdom has withstood
the ages
because a wise
man
is still revered
over a wise
machine.
Will the opposite be
true some day?
One can only wonder |
