David Crowder Band, one of the most sought after bands on college campuses and beyond, launches its first-ever headline tour. “The Illuminate Tour” begins Feb. 16 in Oklahoma City (Edmond, OK), and features both GoTee artist Paul Wright and BEC band Telecast.
With their infectious melodic rock sound and engaging live performance, David Crowder Band traverses the country into 11-states, 18-cities nationally performing fan favorites, including new music from its critically acclaimed, No. 1 selling sophomore album, Illuminate. “The Illuminate Tour” itinerary, as well as individual David Crowder Band appearances are listed below.
Produced by the band, as well as Charlie Peacock (dcTalk, Switchfoot), Mitch Watkins (Joe Ely, Abra Moore) and Zach Lind (Jimmy Eat World), Illuminate is receiving widespread critical acclaim. Lakeland Ledger (Lakeland, FL) entertainment reporter, sr. writer Bill Dean says he sees the “future of music” after he completed a cover feature interview with David Crowder. U-WIRE says that “Crowder’s voice is effortlessly subtle.” A reviewer with the Orange Co. Register said, “Illuminate is quite possibly the best album I've heard this year.” The Fort Worth Star-Telegram gives the album a Grade “A” review, The News Times (Danbury, CT) says the band is “Poised to be the voice of a generation that’s searching for something more” and The Gainesville Sun says, “The David Crowder Band is not your grandfather’s church music – or your big brother’s for that matter…the band’s two CDs have turned heads among mainstream rock fans.”
In addition to the music, Illuminate also features a free demo version of Propellerhead’s Reason 2.5 software (distributed by M-Audio in the U.S.). David Crowder Band placed mastered studio tracks for two songs on the album to be used with the software: “Revolutionary Love” and “O Praise Him (All This for a King),” the first and hit radio single from Illuminate. The software allows people to see how the songs were recorded and mixed, as well as use Reason to create their own remix of the songs.
Regarded as one of the most unique and talented singer/songwriters of today, Crowder will be playing his “Crowdster Acoustic” while on tour, a guitar made for and named after Crowder by premiere guitar maker Tom Anderson Guitarworks.
Performing more than 200 concerts last year, while only missing a handful of Sundays at University Baptist Church (a church David Crowder helped found and where the band leads worship), Dove Award nominated David Crowder Band released its sophomore album, Illuminate, following the band’s critically acclaimed and commercially successful debut, Can You Hear Us?.
