BHT Entertainment announces the signing of acclaimed independent songwriter and artist Trevor Morgan.
The first artist to bow from BHT Entertainment, the new Brentwood-based independent label group, founded by industry veterans Mike Blanton, Dan Harrell and Steve Thomas, Morgan makes his industry debut with Wonderlight, May 4.
“We couldn’t be more excited about Trevor and his new album,” says Blanton. “He is an artist that has been in the making for some time. Ultimately, there’s no one better prepared mentally, emotionally and spiritually as Trevor to enter the industry with total support.”
As a writer, Morgan has already garnered recognition in both the CBA and mainstream music arenas. His songs have been recorded by contemporary Christian artists Ginny Owens, Geoff Moore and Phillips Craig & Dean. Morgan has additionally gained exposure as a bassist for the mainstream act, Owsley, where he co-wrote “I’m Alright” which garnered a spot on R&R’s Top 30 and was featured in a Nautica brand television advertising campaign. His songs have further appeared on syndicated television’s “Live with Regis and Kelly” and the WB network’s “Charmed” and “Jack and Jill.”
Opening concerts as well as playing bass and guitar for Owens’ performances, Morgan toured nationally with her for more than two years. He has also opened for other established artists including Third Day, MercyMe, Jennifer Knapp, Mark Schultz and Geoff Moore.
“I'm a big Trevor Morgan fan,” says Mac Powell. “I love his music and have ever since I heard his first independent project. I'm so excited that more people will soon be hearing his songs. This record is a breath of fresh air for contemporary Christian music.”
Owens continues, “Beyond the singing and songwriting abilities, I often witness Trevor's gifts as a true man of God and a born leader…Whether he is serving people in his church family, helping take care of others on the road, or standing in front of an audience sharing his heart, his God-given ability to be strong and steadfast in his faith is always evident…I have absolutely no doubt that everyone will be just as moved by Trevor's amazing gifts as I have been. Wait and see.”
