Yeah, I know. Katy and I have talked about it and agree that I should since they want me to. We both think it's a little weird but understand why.

Yeah...I've kinda had my L for 2 years now... I could've gotten rid of it long ago, but I'm lazy.

So, I'm very excited. I've finally written another song, and it's not bad. Take a look in the songwriting forum and critique if you will. I've been unable to write a decent song for the past little while, so I'm feeling good about this one. Nice to know I haven't completely lost the knack.

Spring break was fun. Started off with a little home action. My parents were glad to see me and I greatly enjoyed the food. So much better than caf food. My Dad expressed an interest in helping me purchase the acoustic guitar I'm looking at getting, which is awesome, because I'm going to be paying for gas soon, taking a hufe bite out of my paycheck. I think some of the playing I did at home convinced him that I'm serious about guitar. I played "Sleep a Sailor" for him, arguably the best song I've written. Plus I played a little blues and Bob Dylan material. He's a fan.

Then I went to my girlfriend's house for all of yesterday and half of today. Her parents are awesome. Her Dad and I had an interesting, albeit short, talk about theology, and I look forward to talking to him more. He knows his stuff. I love her Mom so much: she is incredibly loving and welcoming and made some delicious food for all of us. There ended up being 12 people at her house, including Katy. It was a little insane.

On Thursday the whole group of us went to Pike's Place in Seattle. It was good fun. There's an amazing comic book shop there that was unfortunately just closing when we got there. Had a bit of a look through a Nightwing graphic novel and did a short walkthrough of the store. I want to spend several hours in there.

Then they watched a movie: Cool Runnings. I had forgotten how good it was. Sure it's silly, but it makes me cry every time. I did sleep through the first half of the movie (I only had 3 hours of sleep the night before). Apparently they took a picture of me sleeping in a chair with my mouth hanging open, drooling. It was kinda gross.

Speaking of sleep, I have decided, like Jeff, to give up my late mornings. It's become a real problem over the past while, plus it's something I enjoy. I'll be getting up at 9AM every morning for the next 40 days(excepting Saturdays, rather than Sundays). It'll also cut down on my late nights, which have become a problem over the past while. Since I have classe at 9:25 Tuesday and Thursday, and not until 2:30 on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, it'll be nice to have some consistency in my sleep schedule.

So there are many benefits.

Anyways, I'm off to browse the rest of CGR. Cheerio!

School starts again tomorrow. Suck.

Listening to Take Me To Your Leader. Quality. It was my first CD ever.

Watched the Academy Awards. LOTR swept all their nominations. They shouldn't have won for Best Adapted Screenplay. There were so many others (almost all of those nominated for Best Film were adaptations) that could and should have won. LOTR was a great movie, but it was not a great adaptation. It probably shouldn't have claimed best song either, but whatcha gonna do.

I still think Depp should have won for best actor, but Sean Penn deserved it I guess.

Will Farrell and Jack Black = teh awsumnezz!!!!!!!!!!111 That song was amazing.

Go critique my latest song in the Songwriting Forum! I'm talking to you Jeff. There's a link to the forum somewhere in my sig...

Reply to my posts, dammit!

^That's meant to stir up controversy with the barely concealed "cuss" word. It's a pretty transparent attempt at making my journal more interesting.

I was walking to the cafeteria today and realized that I had not bought a CD from the bookstore in a long, long time. In fact, I hadn't bought a CD for ages. This was shocking to me, as I normally struggled to limit myself to one a week.

I'd been in the store several times in the last month and had not seen anything worth buying, but today my eye immediately went to the new Red Cloud offering, Travelling Circus. When it first came out a couple months ago I was going to buy it, but was restricted by lack of money. Today, I had $80 of money free to spend. I'm saving some, but I suddenly realized that I had money with which to buy this CD. I bought it. I'm happy.

It's good, quality rap. And the guy's a Christian. Bizarre combination. This CD was highly recommended to me by my friend Harry. He himself is a very talented rapper and has amazing taste in music. He's black, so that gives him more street cred. Anyways, he's the one who originally got me into rap/hip-hop, and I respect his opinion on rap more than anyone else I know. He recommended this album to me. So far I like it.

This just in: reading poetry is awesome.

For Hootenanny this year, I am going to read some of my poetry to the masses. For those who have no bloody clue what I'm talking about, Hootenanny is the bi-annual talent show we have here at Trinity Western University. The typical show contains a couple bands and solo artists playing silly songs, funny skits, and the occasional dance routine. I decided to mix it up a bit with a little dramatic reading.

I had my audition today. Basically the entire point of the auditions is to make sure you're not planning on anything involving nudeness, lewdness, or rudeness. I'm filed under "none-of-the-above."

In other news, things are looking up on the student leadership front. I had previously applied for Resident Assistant and been denied. Still, my interview went amazingly well and my RD (Resident Director) suggested I apply for Robson Rep. Robson is junior and senior housing with kitchens and koolness built right in. This was something I had not considered. But they need people to do it. I think I'm gonna go for it.

The people in Robson are generally more mature: they're already in their third and fourth years and are comfortable cooking their own food. They're used to independence. This is both a good thing and a bad thing: they need less supervision and guidance, but are more likely to bend or break the rules set down in our Community Standards. Plus I'm going to be a 5'10", 140 lb Junior trying to keep Seniors who are much larger than myself in check. I'm not a big man. I'm scared.

But I think God has been preparing me for this kind of responsibility over the past year. I've matured so much and I think this will be a better place for me than being a Resident Assistant, which requires far more supervision and specific guiding. I'm hoping this is where God is guiding me, as it's the perfect solution. Or at least, it seems that way.

Anyways, I have a paper to work on and sleep to catch up on. Both can't happen. I think I'll write one more page and hit the sack. Good night.

That's the time I'll be getting the coolest haircut of my life. A girl who lives on campus is in love with mullets, and is perfectly willing to cut me one for free. I'm thoroughly excited, and surprisingly, so is my girlfriend. She's begun to embrace the mullet...

Poetry... I need to write more poetry. That's pretty cool that you have that other position now to apply for... I know what it's like with fast food. You'd better get pictures of the occassion up as soon as possible... I'm not one to miss out on a mullet.

Josh.
