| Byron Scott be gone Yes, the Nets fired Byron Scott yesterday. I was shocked. Well, not really shocked. But I didn't expect it.
Then they came out tonight and stomped the 76ers.
What do ya'll think about it?

| It was completely warranted! After all, what did he ever do for the Nets?
No, I mean other than the two straight Finals appearances.
No, other than the winning seasons.
NOTHING! Exactly.
Okay, end sarcasm. This firing was completely ridiculous and uncalled for. How can someone who has led the team to consecutive Conference Championships be on such a short leash? This is what is wrong with pro sports.
Incidentally, Scott is a former Sacramento Kings assistant coach. It was very interesting to see the reactions of Rick Adelman and a few of the Kings players in the Sacramento Bee today. http://www.sacbee.com/content/sports...-9101040c.html |

| The Sacramento Bee? Any relation to the Reno Wasp? Or the Portland Ladybug?
I remember them almost firning him after last season, but that was cuz he and Kidd didn't get along. Does anyone know if this has something to do with the new owners?

| Hahaha, Hey, the Bee is a good paper.
Yeah, it is rumoured to have to do with the new owners. Of course, they were just looking for an excuse. I guess they don't like all those banners hanging from the rafters of Continental Airlines Arena. |

| ok, Art, if it weren't for Jason Kidd, do you think the Nets would have gone to the NBA Finals two times? personally, i think they made the right decision. Kidd is the reason for all the success if i had to choose between J-Kidd and most coaches around today, i'd choose Kidd. we'll see what happens though. if the Nets continue to do well, i think my point will be proven |

The Nets were a rather undertalented team to be in the finals. That indicates high level coaching. |

| 1, you think the Nets would have gone without Kidd?
and 2, could the fact that he had never done it be because he played in the West? even in the days of the Bulls, the West Kidd played in is much better ALL AROUND than the East has been the past two years |

| Do you think the Nets could have gone to the Finals with, say, Tim Floyd as the coach? Could I have been their coach and still have gone to the Finals? Kidd wasn't enough to make it that far. He had to have someone behind him. Watch. They probably won't make it to the Conference Finals this year. Well, they might, but only cuz my church team could beat the rest of the Eastern Conference. But I think Indiana would beat them to a pulp.

And Indiana and Detroit are both better teams than them this year. With good coaches.
No, they wouldn't have won without Kidd, but they also wouldn't have won with a lesser coach. |

| Kidd would have had to have had a coach who had NBA credentials, but i think Kidd means more in the present to the team than Scott |

| Speaking of all this... the Nets are still undefeated under Lawrence Frank. Kind of a terrible game last night though.. 31 points total in the first half. And they still spanked New Orleans. |
