He Knows Our Names

"He calls his own sheep by name."

Joseph's call was a dream. For Moses it was a burning bush. The twelve heard, "Follow Me." Saul got a flash of light. Elijah heard a still small voice.

God loves us as individuals and calls us as individuals.

Thank you, Father.

Isn't that an awesome thought!

If you look out at the vast universe on a bright starry night, it is nearly incomprehendable that He who created everything that has been created, knows me.

That's humbling!

A God Thing

I'm so glad God helped me to see the individual nature of our call. I was helping to facilitate a Bible study last night with some new friends new to the kingdom of God. Some were a bit terrified by the story of the rich young ruler or of Abraham offering Isaac. They don't know what God is going to ask of them. None of us do. We were able to explore the idea that we don't have to worry about it because God will individualize his call to us and it will be good for us. When writing this devo earlier, I didn't know the discussion I would be in on Wednesday night, but our Father knew, and his Holy Spirit worked it all together for good. Praise God!
