I'm a tenor.
Although I can sing as high as most altos, and as low as most basses.
My range is from about low F (same as Xkcer Man) to about C an octave above middle C. But comfortable, I can go from low A to A above middle C.

We have enough to have a SAT choir! Where are all the basses around here?

I know I'm definitely a soprano, but I'm not sure which category of sopranos I fall into. I'll have to get back to you on that.

Is this a young choir? Bass voices don't develope in range and richness till much later than tenors can sing comfortably and fully in their range.

aint that the truth! I'm 19 and I have a feeling that i'll be a baritone with a pretty good range by the time my voice finally settles. As a tenor my voice grew a lot but i'm starting to lose a lot of that and my lower range is developing. It's really frustrating so i'm just working on techinique so that when my voice finally settles the technique will already be there.

I am used to singing in choirs with people who are older.. not youth choirs.. I am just used to having the support of the basses.. that's all! I know what you mean about young basses though.. they are really not basses! lol

VERY hard to sing through the break...

Back in the day when I was in choir, I sang soprano, alto AND tenor. I've lost some of the lower notes since then, but it was funny 'cause there were 2 girls and 1 guy in the baritone section...
