| John is 50 times better at bass when he's not singing. I've heard him warm up. His song lines are a bit rudimentary, but what can you expect from a vox/bass player. Nevertheless, Hey You dominates all ... |

| My two favorites are Tony Terusa, formerly of The O.C. Supertones, and Victor Wooten of Bela Fleck and the Flecktones. |

| Right now, I'm really James Jamerson. I've been playing through the book Standing in the Shadows of Motown learning some of Jamerson's lines from songs like "Ain't No Mountain High Enough," "I'm Gonna Make You Love Me," "Bernadette," etc.
As for my current favorite Bassists:
1. James Jamerson
2. Jaco Pastorius
3. Victor Wooten
4. Brian Bromberg
P.S.
Anyone check out Rhonda Smith, who's playing currently with Prince? I'm not sure if anyone's mentioned her in this thread, but she's laying the groove down nicely on Prince's new stuff

That man is the most amazing musician I've ever heard. | I strongly dissagree. Traa is not that good of a bassist. I was into POD a lot, and his stuff isnt that great. I like Paul McCartny, hes very underated. Mike Herra from MXPX is sweet too, cause he playse better basslines than most guys and lead sings at the same time. |

| I would have to say the guy from the band Tait. I saw them play and it was awesome! His bass was pretty cool, too. |
