| Amp Questions I am looking at the Peavey Delta Blues series of amps, and I have a question. There are two amps, both the same price. One has a single 15 inch speaker, while the other has 2 10 inch speakers. Purpose? What are the advangates/disadvantages of this?

| Single 15"= More bass, more focused sound
Dual 10" = More treble, wider spread of sound, seems louder |

| What do you mean by more focused and wider spread of sound?

| The 15 will have big bottom, and less highs. The 10's will have less bottom, and more highs. If you have a humbucker guitar, you might want to go with the 10's. Strat or tele, might want to go with the 15...Depends on what you want.
Sorry Rainer, but the spread of sound is just the opposite. When speakers are stacked, the dispersion becomes narrower in that axis, due to some principle of physics, I guess having to do with how the sound waves of each driver couple together that increases the velocity. For example in a 2x10 guitar amp, since the speakers are stacked horizontally, the horizontal dispersion is actually narrower. This is why 4x12 and 4x10 cabinets (stacked horizontally and vertically) are known for their ability to "throw" the sound further; their sound is dispersed in a narrower pattern than a single speaker.

| Ah. I stand corrected. I must've mixed spread with projection... |
