Hard week...

Colts over Chiefs
Eagles over Packers
Titans over Pats
Rams over Panthers

Subject to change... We'll see. I'm actually leaning toward Pats over Titans.

Here's some mini analysis for my picks

Colts over Chiefs

The NFL Playoffs are all about who's hot at the moment. Peyton Manning is executing unbelievably right now. No one is playing QB better. Add in the fact that the Chiefs finished the season cold and you can see it's simple. Colts: hot, Chiefs: not. The wildcard is the Indy defense which is inconsistant. Although it won't be that much of a factor as this will be a shootout anyway. In the end, Manning will find a way to win.

Eagles over Packers

I don't believe in the ghost of Irv Favre. The Packers will not go into Philly and be carried by destiny. In case some of you haven't noticed, this is not the Eagles team from the first half of the season. McNabb has been back for a few weeks now. And Favre is of course playing like a young QB with something to prove, but it won't be enough. The loss of Brian Westbrook will make this game closer, but Andy Reid will put together a game plan that will be successful.

Pats over Titans

No one is going to beat the Pats at Foxboro right now. I don't care who you are. It's not going to happen. Bill Bellichick is in the middle of one of the great coaching performances of our time. That's all I think I need to say.

Rams over Panthers
This will be the game of the week I think, entertainment-wise. I don't think that Jake Delhomme is going to be able to go into St. Louis and win the game passing the ball, so Carolina better hope that their defense holds the Rams offense early on. If not, then Stephen Davis will be forced out of the gameplan, and it's lights out if that happens. But I don't think it will. Davis will have a big day and this one will go into overtime. But like the Pats, the Rams do not lose at home. Final score: 30-27 Rams in Overtime.

Steve McNair. As I said, I'm leaning the other way. The only reason I really put it the way I did was so that I wouldn't have the exact same picks as you. Your analysis is pretty good, though. KC will not beat Indy. That is the one I am probably most sure of.

This seems to be a popular set of picks and I agree with it except for the Pack.

If the game was at Green Bay my pick might be different.

Colts over Chiefs

This is a tough one. Yes, Manning is doing well, but he is young and can have a crappy game pretty often. Their defense can do the same. Basically, if either manning does crappy or their defense fails, they will lose. The chiefs' defense hasn't been too impressive, so I am pretty confident the Colts will be able to score, but their defense won't be able to hold against the chiefs offense (especially with holmes). I'm thinking the Colts win in a shootout, though.

Eagles over Packers

The Packers just haven't impressed me. Of course, neither has McNabb, but the eagles as a whole are good right now.

Pats over Titans

The Titans will shut down the Pats' running game. This is obvious, as the Patriots have virtually no running game anyway, especially against one of the best running defenses in the league (best statistically, but I doubt they are truly the best). Can the Titans stop the Patriots' passing attack? I don't think they can. Patriots will handily defeat the Titans, who will still score a few td's of their own.

Rams over Panthers

This is a tough one. The Panthers have an excellent defense, but the Rams have a good offense. I think it will revolve around Faulk. If the Panthers can shut down Faulk, even though the Rams do have good receives and a pretty good QB, I think they make the game close. If not, they are dead. I think the Rams will jump out to an early lead and hold it for the rest of the game.

I am very tempted to go Chiefs over Colts because of Manning's inexperience. I am also tempted to go Panthers over Rams, because of their great defense. However, this is what I am going for right now.

I expect the Pats to get one or two defensive touchdowns off of turnovers (interceptions or fumbles ran back for touchdowns). That will be the difference that will give them the win I believe. That or special teams.

Colts over Cheifs

The Cheifs can't stop the run. f the Colts will hand the ball to Edge even a few times, they will win.

Eagles over Packers

Pats over Titans

Rams over Panthers

I don't think so. The few times I have seen the Colts play, their running game has hardly been a factor.

This is true, but Edge is still quite a good runner, and as long as Dungy remembers that the Cheifs can't stop the run, he will run a bit.
