the way I see it there are two ways to do it. you could just bend further, or you could cheat by going up a fret in the middle of the bend and somehow making it smooth... I can't really think of anything else... Good luck!

Oddjob,

It sounds like you're trying to play a style of music you're not used to playing, and so you're being dainty and treating your strings too well. It's also possible you're bringing a part that's quite easily played on an electric into acoustic-world, and thus experiencing some difficulty.

It is indeed possible to bend the G string at the 11th fret to sound 1 full step higher, even on an acoustic guitar - though it's much easier on an electric, but you'll have to bend it farther than you've ever bent it before. It might hurt your fingers to do it. You may have to bend it so far that you push your A string out of the way a little bit. But if you want to play the song "right," go for it! The most it's gonna cost you is a sore finger and a broken G string, but if you're playing on a fresh set it's not too likely to break even when bent that far.

Good luck and ibuprofen,

Nate

Another thing to consider is your string gauge. Are your strings to thick, that could also be your prob.

Its very difficult to bend a whole step on an acoustic so you need to get your fingers stronger or put lighter strings on it.
