Proverbs 30:24-28

Locusts. Usually when we think of grasshoppers, we think of disgusting things that crunch under your feet and hop around and destroy crops. But when you look into it further, you see that locusts truly are amazing.
Though they don't nescessarily have a leader, or a king, they stick together and get things done. They don't argue over higher positions and ranks, they just band together and accomplish their goals.
God wants us to be like that too. Sometimes, we don't have a specific leader, but those are the times when God is testing us, seeing how we will respond when there is no authority over us. Will we fight over ranks and positions, or will we simply unite and reach our goal?
As the body of Christ, we should be willing to stick together, whether or not others are as good at certain things as you are, or not, we are supposed to stay together as a family.

I like this thought. I have to confess that I am not like this, however. I should tell you what happened to me at church on Sunday.

There is this guy who has been coming to the church for the last few months. He lives in a local half-way house. He comes to the early service but he is always late. I found out that he always stays for the second service.

Anyway, on Sunday during the fellowship time between services, I saw him sitting at a table in the activity center and he was rolling a cigarette so he could have a smoke before Sunday School. I have to admit that for an instant the thought crossed my mind that this was not the time or place for what he was doing.

Later, during Sunday School I watched him as he read from the Bible. He is blind in one eye and the vision is not that great in the other so he has to almost touch his nose to the page to read. All of a sudden the Holy Spirit spoke to my heart saying something like, "Would you be willing to study my word if it was that much work?"

This guy is part of the body just as I am. Who was I think poorly of him?

Thank you, Lord, for revealing that to me!
