| In my opinion, risk is the best board game ever. I have only played the original though. I don't mean to brag but i have never lost a game or risk on the original board. but because i always win no one wants to play with me anymore. There is a trick to it. put all you men in north america. (this is a huge risk to take with a lot of players, but thats why its called risk ) First you take over N. America, and make sure Greenland, central america and alaska has a great defense. The next thing you do depends of what is happening on the board. If someone is close to taking over Asia, send some of your Alaskan army over the sea and take over Kamchatka. In the same turn (if you think you have enough men) attack from Central America to Venezula and stop for that turn. next, send your army in Venezuela to take over peru, take over Argentina, and at last take Brazil. As your taking south america make sure you are moving all your southern army at the same time to keep them together. But remember, only take south america in this way if when you get to Brazil with a big enough army to be able to withstand an attack from North Africa. Also, before you take south america, check to make sure you have your boarders secure, if not get them secure and then take south america. after you have north and south america send your greenland army into europe and slowly take it over. then go for africa. After that, asia and australia. if you want me to go into detail about taking europe or africa or both, just let me know and i will. |

| North America rocks. Only three ways to get in, and you get five reinforcements from it. Plus, you can take South America without increasing the size of your borders, so that's 7 bonus reinforcements with only 3 border territories. Plus, Europe is always nice to expand into.

| LOTR RISK is also awesome, especially the Trilogy edition. I'm trying to work out just what the best chance Good has is. Evil has an incredibly strong position in the south, because they've got Mordor and Harad.
Mordor is almost impossible to break into. Because of the mountains, there's only two ways to get in, and those are strongholds, which means that they're getting reinforced. Harad is similar. City of the Corsairs is a nice dock to hold, and there's only one other way to get into Harad. City of the Corsairs is also an excellent way to threaten Anfalas, because it's not a stronghold.
So, with those extra reinforcements, Evil can send up some guys to harry the Free Peoples in the North, and prevent them from getting continents. Plus, Evil can keep retaking Ithilien and abandoning it to get Adventure cards.

| RISK is possibly my favorite game there is. I got it for christmas a year ago, and a lot of guys from my church are really into it so we play all the time. My favorite strategy is starting with as many guys in one territory and then just going from there. No one attacks big armys early |

| I'd also like to add that I just bought Lord of the Rings Risk: The Trilogy for 2 dollars from my local thrift store. The only things that are missing are the instruction manual and the ring... ;( |
