Talking New 12 Stones album!!!!!

Due out in summer of 2004!!!

If you go to the 12 Stones zone they have a link to a live show that someone recorded and they play 4 or 5 new songs on there. Terrible quality, good songs. Seems to be going more in the direction of songs like "Back Up" and "My Life"

I am worried they will go the way of so many bands and have their second album pale in comparison to their great debut album.

They waited to long for this. They had a pretty soild fan base for a while, but now they have been pretty much forgotten. I don't think this album will sell well, or be that good.

I hope they don't go lame on us and put out a mediocre second album, cuz I would be REALLY dissapointed if they did.

However, I do agree with the fact that this album won't sell as well. Their popularity was at a peak right before Evanescence got their break... Which they also went down the tubes too, but that's another story...

I still look forward to hearing it though. It's too bad that the recordings from that one show are terrible. I'd like to hear them for real and hear what they're really like.

Has anybody ever actually seen them live? It's just that on every live recording of them I've ever heard Paul McCoy sounds absolutely horrible. The music is decent from the live recordings I've heard, but Paul's voice and the BGV's are horrendous. I think they're one of those bands that really benefits from the trickery and technology in a studio along with the endless takes you can do because the live stuff just does nothing for me.

I've never seen 'em live (unless you count Broken TV). And I would agree, his voice is like bleh most of the time. The music is good (if, for no other reason, that Eric Weaver is really the driving force behind the musical aspects of it).

I mean he does a decent job, but I really think he has a hard time singing in the right key when he's on stage. And, like you say, they really take advantage of the studio and all the "tricks" that go on behind the scenes.

Its not that long of time between albums. Its a bit over two years and two years is fairly normal. The fact that "Bring Me to Life" was such a big hit could definately help them get more radio play. The only times I"ve heard 12 Stones on the radio was after "Bring Me to Life" was huge hit. The DJ made note of the connection. At the level of exposure they're at, it really comes down to good the lead single is. Since we haven't heard it, we can't really say.

I don't understand why you's guys are writing the album off so quickly. Chevelle's first CD came out and did alright. It got a bit of Mtv and radio play but not much. Then they had a long break between albums. Rumours were going around...then they come out with their second CD and it goes platinium and they become a household name...well at least for people listening to "alternative radio." I wouldn't be so quick to write off 12 Stones just yet.

I agree...his studio voice is so...smooth, and his live voice is scratchy sounding. Though, in the acoustic live songs he did (you can listen to them at their website), his voice is about the same as it is in the album. I guess being so active live can have a toll on your voice. That is my theory.
