| While you're watching the Super Bowl, look for me. The Super Bowl, as many of you know, will be in Houston this year. MTV, who is putting together the half-time show, called my band director a few weeks ago and asked if our marching band would be interested in being in the half-time show, and then came down Tuesday of last week while we "auditioned" for the spot (and only had 3 practices to prepare the show). I just found out today that we made it. I doubt we're going to march, but we will be on the field playing some songs or something. I also doubt we'll actually get to watch the game, but I've heard we'll have a nice room somewhere with food and stuff at Reliant Stadium that we'll be able to watch from. And we're getting paid
This is in addition to a casting agent in Houston having about 100 people from the band film a Nexium commercial (playing both as the marching band and the crowd). Go UH band.

| I bet it's as a whole band.
Wow, that's awesome. But none of us are gonna be watching the Super Bowl halftime show. That's when pay-per-view is doing the lingere bowl

| My understanding is that band members are paid. I don't know how much though.

| OK, sorry to bring up an old thread, but I wanted to let you guys know where I'll be. If you're looking at the band facing the field, I'm in the very front right corner. I'll let you know how it goes.

| Apart from my video of half time, here's my only memorabilia from having been a part of today's event. These are the wrist bands they gave us to gain access on the field. I'm not sure we really need them, since the band uniforms generally did the job. The pink one is from Thursday's dress rehearsal, the orange is from the game.

| I didn't see you man, nor did I think to look. Nor would I have been able to, since I don't know what you look like, and it wasn't a "one man band." Congrats though. Really cool experience. Good job! |

| No. We were sitting in the Astrodome (which is right next to Reliant Stadium) before the game started. Before pregame had ended they told us to head outside, where we stood until the 2nd quarter. Then they told us to go back in, so we watched about 4 plays. Then they told us to go back out. I was really mad.
During the long amount of time we were in the Astrodome, a few of us passed the time by tossing a frisbee around in the stands. We got it stuck a couple of times, but eventually got it.

| Actually, I didn't know about that whole thing until a few minutes after half time. There were upwards of 3,000 people on the field, so as soon as the final pyrotechnics went off, we were told to make a mad dash out of the stadium (which ended up taking us about 250+ yards). This was in order to clear out everybody with no congestion and give the field crew enough time to get all the stages out.
I think it was intentional, but there's already enough threads about it, so I'm not going into it any more.
