So, few weeks ago, I found out that while here in this missions school in Texas.. 4 of my familys rabbits died. It still hurts to talk about it cause one of them was my favorit, and its' hard to believe that I'll never see her again she was an angora.. the kind with loong hair.. some people called her a mop, others a gremelin.. well.... one of the rabbits died just of sickness.. but the other three where torn apart by two big dogs that came and ripped the cages down only one rabbit was saved cause my dad got out there in time. I wasn't there.. but imagining it... *shutters* I feel so bad for my little sister she had already lost her two favorit rabbits to little dogs, and to think that another two were killed by big ones.. *shutters* that would have been horrifying..

This is Becky's dad. It happened at 5am in the morning. The dogs weren't even barking, I just heard them wimpering trying to get in the last cage. I haven't seen these dogs around before or since, but I do keep my eyes out for them. The last rabbit is still on our back porch while I figure out how to make a fortress inpenitrable by small or large preditors.

I'm sorry Becky. That's so sad. I really feel for you and your little sister.

The way we did it, before we decided to put a fence around the rabbits inside the open shed that houses our goats, we put the rabbit cages against the wall and about 3 feet off the ground. Then, we secured them with about seven million feet of wire and nails. We the put wire fencing around the bottom, open portion, and around the top. No dog i know has ever been able to get them rabbits. Atleast, not before I hear them and come running with my trusty 12 Gauge.

Hmm...
while my family was away during spring break, my sis's hamster died. i had to bury him in a box, and the only one I could find was a cracker box. It wasn't until I put the hamster in that I realized that I left the crackers in there...OOPS! lol

hmm...

one scottish terrier, dundee: had to be put down because he bit me when i was a baby. (it was my fault anyway i was playing with his food!!)

parakeet, B1 (bird one): got killed (not eaten) by cats and dog

parakeet, B2 (brid two): got killed (again not eaten) by cats and dog

-the darn things learned how to open their cage-

parakeet, Hercules: guess

cat, Tidbit: got so old she was skin and bones and always throwing up... had
to be put down

cat, Tom: got so old he was having dizzy spells and could barely walk... had to be put down

kitten, Wilson (bought as a Christmas present to mom to replace Tidbit): about two months after we got him he got killed out of jealousy by our dog

fish, Goldie: got sucked up the filter tube

fish, Pete: layed on the bottom of tank (would not eat) and eventually rotted away

fish, Snowball: survived so many various diseases, and yet, one day, when i was cleaning her tank and i had put her in a smaller bowl for a moment... she croaked

multiple other fish: dead

yeah... thats all for now

Our old dog Bobo (don't ask how he got that name! lol) got sick with liver disease i believe, as well as other things, and had to be put down.

Me and my brother have had a few goldfish, and beta fish (or chinese fighting fish) which have died from who knows what.

1: Catamount, my cat... no way am I going into details, suffice to say that whatever suspicions I had about my parents were sadly confirmed by the circumstances of his death.
2: Zimri, my first betta, ended up being a bit neglected after my cat's death, I went three weeks without changing the water before noticing his fins had started to turn black, and he died the day after I cleaned his tank.

I've only had four pets (one cat, three bettas), so that's not so bad. Hopefully my current fish being in the care of a non-fish-person for the next several weeks while I go away won't add to the list...

my black lab died by drinking out of a pool of radiator fluid or something like that.

my golden retriever should've died years ago, but it didn't. we still have to put up with it.

My mom's friend had a dog that was on a choke collar and it chased something around the kitchen and choked it self when it jumped off the table.

My dog got his dewclaw torn out by SOMETHING when we were playing fetch. I didn't notice it until there was blood on the toy, it didn't even phase him. It's growing back now, but more outward than downward. I just thought it was amazing-because in the dewclaw 'pad' there was a big hole, I thought it would never grow back. But it is! That's pretty cool.

BTW, he has also torn through 2 (so far) of those spring loaded clip things, the big ones, too. If he sees something he goes after it, and nothing can stop him. None of that ever phased him, either, He just takes off then you hear *dink*, I've never even seen it slow him down.
