In fact, the overripe mango was still quite delicious, despite being drippy and difficult to cut. | Oh man, I love mango. I wish there were more around here...but where I am moving to I can go pick mangos out of my back yard. That is going to rock! Quote: |
Oh yes, another thing about our trek to Denny's. The one in Rocklin has one of those win-a-prize game machines, where you position the claw and have it dig out a stuffed animal for you. Well, Art played maybe twice for fun, and then we saw a certain particular stuffed animal make it nearly all the way to the door. Well, that drove Art crazy. $4.50 later, we have a new Melman. He's the giraffe from Madagascar.
| I have seen that many a time. I have watched my sister spend $10 on one of those deals, because on fell right by the door. It was hilarious.

24. Have you gained some weight since then?
Haha, no. I've actually lost a good deal of weight since my HS days. I lost my freshman 15.
| *high five* me too!! well...mine was more like transfer 20. haha.
congrats on the Melman! I think he's really cute in pessimistic fatalist sort of way.
and I have to be honest, I think it would be really funny to see you tipsy. if you were funny, that is. |

In defense of my being tipsy, not only am I rather tiny in overall size, I'd had a lone piece of pizza an hour previous to the game, and nothing to eat all night or for the bulk of the day. I think I had all of a nuked cheesy croissant yesterday morning before crawling to bed.
Hmm, cheesy croissant sounds kinda good... *considers getting one*
Soyes. I have learned an important lesson. Rachel does not drink alky on an empty stomach. Any of it. Or she will be suffering the consequences into the next day. My poor abdomen doesn't like me much now. And boy, I do NOT like being tipsy. Blurred vision, labored functioning and feeling generally sick is not fun, kids. I'm not doing that again.
Well, Art's entrée was. *smile* I had fish and chips. The fish wasn't so great, and the chips were pretty plain french fries. I also got an extra side of rice pilaf instead of the coleslaw, and that pilaf was the best thing on my plate.
My drink was good, though. I think it was a Razzdango? Mango and raspberry. And Sprite. Yeah. They have a pretty good drink line.
So that was our day. And I am still up, and feeling rather crappy from that one *$%&^ Mike's. Sigh.
*goes to nuke a croissant* | Ah, You have learned a valuable lesson. Denny's is not the place to order fish n chips!! Denny's is a place to order breakfast food! |

| I like mangoes too, Brian. I rarely get them myself, though. My mom handed a couple off to me when I went back down to my parents' house.
My mom keeps giving me other stuff when I go back to reclaim my junk to sort through. I know it's part of her nature, but I keep seeing other motives in it. like when she starts telling me crap about why she gives me stuff. Guhhh....
Breeners, I lost my frosh 15 and another probably 5-10 lb in the hospital post-op. So if you want a surefire way to lose more weight, have your appy burst and get misdiagnosed, then go back to the hospital just before you die to have it taken out of you. Those meds will keep you off of solid food for the bulk of a week, easy.
[/semi-bitter half-joke]
I doubt I was fun to be around, guys. I think I'd be an annoying drunk, not a funny one. I kept complaining about how woozy I felt to Art. I had to use the handrails to help me up the steps, although I probably could've survived without them if I'd taken more time to climb, and I held Art's hand all the way to the car. And I was thirsty to death afterward, so he went and got a Vitamin water out of the trunk for me.
So yeah. Being incapacitated isn't fun, and I think I pretty much made sure Art knew that.
Anyhow. Art sent me a TM that he's being sent to CONCORD. Right now.
So he'll be back when he's back, and our dinners are on our own. Which means, I'm free for a couple of hours tonight. So... hello, contraband keycard? Maybe. Apparently Breeners ran home already, so I may just end up chilling with Dory and Jay again. Which is fine, as we have had good times together.

So instead of complaining, I ordered the next closest thing, which turned out to suck.

[/semi-bitter half-joke] | eek. I never gained the fresh 15 or transfer 20 (as Lily and I called it.) and I think to lose the rest of the weight I want to lose, I will use a combo of caf food (or lack thereof) and workout dvds. my aunt and uncle were over the other night, and my aunt was trying to get me to eat more cheesecake or something. I told her I already had a slice, and she was like, "it's okay, one more won't make you fat."
then my dad goes, "when we see her again in two months, she will be half of herself. they don't give her any food at her school!"
I just had to laugh. I lost a ton of weight the beginning of last year, then gained a bunch of weight when I moved home for the summer, then lost almost all that I gained within the past 6 weeks, and I am hoping I will be able to hit my goal by graduation. I'd rather not have my appendix burst to help me get there, though. Quote: |

| hahah aww. I am afraid I would be a wild drunk. like...out of control. so, I will just make sure I never get drunk. as for being tipsy...I think I'd just laugh uncontrollably. Quote: |

| aww. boo. I did run home today. and Jay is at home. Dory is there, though, and I am sure she would love to see you. it's still open dorms, you know, so you may be able to get in even if your card doesn't work. |

My mom tried to get me to be skinnier. For awhile, we weighed ourselves nightly to see who weighed less. It was mostly just for fun, but I think that still started some thought processes I am better off without. So now, I don't have a bathroom scale, and I don't know that I really miss it. Quote: |

| The thing with tipsy is, you still know very well what's going on and have some control over your body. It's just more of a struggle to do things normally. It's not very fun. I'd equate it to being underwater - blurry vision and struggling to walk or move around normally. Quote:

My window for getting showered and fed is closing, though. =/
Aren't you still supposed to have your card to get into the building though, after Shannon's and Katie's incident last year? You knew about it, right? The random guy came into the building during open dorms and started asking Shannon and Katie questions about the school, said he wanted to apply for a teaching job, and wouldn't take hints to leave. We needed our keycards the whole time after that last year.

| well, I know the being aware part, but I remember for her 21st birthday my best friend got somewhat buzzed, and she was in control of her body and whatever, but she couldn't stop laughing. I imagine I would be mostly the same. Quote: |

actually, I heard there was an incident where a guy hid in a closet or something. I heard it played down as a joke, but I am not so sure. Quote:

I just happened to be losing weight, and so did my mom, though she was trying to lose. I finally hit a weight that stayed (around 113) and my mom kept losing, but then she is shorter than me to begin with.
I think I probably weigh around 120-125 now. I don't really care about the exact number save for perhaps curiosity. I can gauge my approximate weight by now, so I don't really feel the need to get a bathroom scale. It's probably for the best, because I can see things turning ugly and me getting obsessive about my weight. Quote: |

| I don't think being buzzed is the same as being tipsy. I think tipsy is past buzzed. I felt the alcohol's effects long before I finished the drink and was tipsy. I think I was buzzed through the whole ballgame. I didn't feel bad until I forcibly finished my drink in the 9th inning. Then I noticed my vision begin to blur around the edges, and I felt woozy when I stood up. Quote: |

| Eeeeeesh. Joke or not, that's completely unfunny. I know for me, I would come out of the shower and go into my room to get clothes. What if the guy was hiding in the room of a girl who'd gone into the shower and she came into her room to get her clothes?! Not. Funny.

| That's why there's locks on the doors, Breeners.
Besides. I've not-participated in sooo many "open dorms" that it didn't matter what time it was after awhile. If I stank and needed showering, I was showering.
It also probably helped that Shannon and I had the room in the back corner, right in front of the bathroom door...
