| I understand completely. I couldn't go to bed when I intended this morning, for there was the lovely sound of loud hammering against my apartment's outside wall.
I am growing more and more tired of the noisiest construction work being done at the earliest hours. Do construction workers not understand that people actually live and sleep in these residences? That some members of society have weekdays as their off-days? That hammering and jackhammering is some of the noisiest work one can do? Quote: |

I can see the invitations now:
"...Cordially request your presence, on November 28, 2011, at 7:15 PM for Small and [Ideal Woman]'s Wedding/Tim's Birthday Bash."
It would be perfect; all my friends would feel obliged to buy you a birthday present, and all your friends would feel obliged to bless the newlyweds. Quote:

| There are, of course, two sides to every issue. For instance, speaking as someone whose job forces him to get up early, much of the time, if I had to be outdoors doing manual labor at 5 am, I wouldn't really feel benevolently about all those people who were still enjoying themselves in somnabulent bliss.
In fact, I might set off a few fireworks for good measure. Quote: |

Probably hanging out with Jeff.

Not at all.

12. Where did you sit during lunch?
Either the lab or the music room. Loser!
13. Name the school's full name?
NTHS. Then SHS
14. School mascot?
Poseidon. The other was a cougar or something.

No. I wanted to.
18. If you could go back and do it again, would you?

20. Where did you go senior skip day?
We did not have a senior skip day. There were only 5 seniors.

Band room, probably.

| Oh fine, I'll do a survey in my own blog. in highschool...
1. Who was your best friend?
Probably Valerie still. Although I spent a bunch of time with Anna and Rachael and other people.
2. What sports did you play?
HAHAHA none. Although with how badly our football team sucked then, I probably could've made it onto the squad. No, seriously. This girl who's even tinier than I was a starter on the varsity squad our senior year. That's how sad our football team was.
3. What were your grades?
They went from great to good to decent to senioritis.
4. On a Friday night what were you doing?
Sitting at home, watching tv with my parents. I was a loser of an only child.
5. Were you a party animal?
Not until I grajumacated, man.
6. Were you considered a flirt?
Again, not in high school. I found my net-flirting prowess on CGR, apparently.
7. Were you in band, orchestra, or choir?
In HS, show choir for two years. Then I split because our director was a pansy.
8. Were you a nerd?
In a lot of ways. I guess you could say that my whole group was a bunch of nerds because we were all in AP/honors or trying to get into AP/honors classes. One of my "crew" was our salutatorian.
9. Did you get suspended/expelled?
Not in HS. I got day suspension once in MS. The class clown decided to pick on me, and one day, he thwapped my glasses and made my nose bleed. I got fed up and reported him, and he turned the tides on me. We were both on garbage duty that lunchtime.
10. Can you still sing the fight song?
Sadly, yes.
11. Who was your favorite teacher?
Hmmm. Mrs. Engle was awesome. So was Mr. Kim, but I never actually had his class. Ms. Bolla was also cool. Mrs. Kamkar was really nice, and I never officially had her class either. OH! And Mrs. Curry, who retired while I was still attending HS. She gave freaking tight bearhugs, haha.
12. Where did you sit during lunch?
In the cafe or in the yard. Senior year, I would often eat lunch in class after going off-campus to buy lunch.
13. Name the school's full name?
Abe Lincoln HS
14. School mascot?
Mustangs.
15. School colors?
Crimson and gold.
16. Rival high school?
"Officially" it was Washington HS, but really, everyone hated Lowell. We were always pitting our brainiacs against theirs in the yearly Academic Decathalon, and we would either come in first or a bitter second.
17. Did you go to Prom?
Yes. And my friend Jimmy ran for queen that year. He won.
18. If you could go back and do it again, would you?
Do what again? Relive all the melodrama? No thanks. I had some good times and all, but I am quite done with that phase of my life.
19. What do you remember most about graduation?
I remember chit-chatting with my classmates about little things here and there. I remember being a little nervous when my homeroom got called to the front to get our fake rolls of paper. I remember being incredibly thankful that I was wearing pretty thong sandals and not heeled shoes as I walked down a flight of steps back to my seat.
20. Where did you go senior skip day?
I don't remember there being an official ditch day. I do remember taking my own liberties with that, though.
21. Favorite memory?
None in particular. Lots of time spent with Koinonia Club members. Many conversations with friends. stalking common crushes with the girls
22. Were you in any clubs?
Yes. Koinonia (the Christian club, which dissolved two years after I graduated and hopefully has become reborn by now), AP club (which basically stood for "we sell candy to pay for our college credit tests"), and Red Cross my senior year, because my English teacher was in charge.
23. Where did you go most often for lunch?
Cafe. We had "our" table.
24. Have you gained some weight since then?
Haha, no. I've actually lost a good deal of weight since my HS days. I lost my freshman 15.
25. Who was your Senior prom date?
What's-his-face. I mean, Austin. who appears to be crushing on my friend now
26. Are you planning on going to your 10-year reunion?
I would love to. That would be some good catching up for sure.
27. Who was your home room teacher?
Ms... Shirvani. Wow, I remembered her name. I also remember her being allergic to sunlight, and people spreading rumors about her because of her pasty white makeup and long hair that always covered her ears.
28. Who will repost this after you?
Bah.
29. Who was your high school sweetheart?
Nobody. I didn't get a really cute guy to crush on me until I met my husband.
30. Do you still talk to people from high school?
Sort of. Elaina ended up at Jessup, and I talked to Tiff in-person at my wedding. Besides that, I mostly am shooting out Facebook messages back and forth.
31. Did you win prom/homecoming queen or king?
No, but my friend Jimmy won for queen. The snooty-face "popular" girl who would otherwise have won looked satisfyingly dejected, and her prom King boyfriend gave back his crown symbolically.
32. Where did you work at in high school ?
I worked in my room. On my homework.
33. Did you go to College?
Indeed.
34. Do you work now?
If by that you mean "toil around my domicile," then yes.
35. Are you married?
Quite.
36. Do you have children?
Not yet.
37. Did you name a pet after an old boyfriend?
HAHA. Now why would I go and do that to the poor creature?

| So, Art and I went to our first minor league baseball game (today? yesterday?) um, earlier. *smile* Sac Rivercats vs. Fresno Grizzlies. Aka, minor league A's vs. minor league Giants. Well, sort of. Quote:

I think I had all of a nuked cheesy croissant yesterday morning before crawling to bed.
Hmm, cheesy croissant sounds kinda good... *considers getting one*
Soyes. I have learned an important lesson. Rachel does not drink alky on an empty stomach. Any of it. Or she will be suffering the consequences into the next day. My poor abdomen doesn't like me much now. And boy, I do NOT like being tipsy. Blurred vision, labored functioning and feeling generally sick is not fun, kids. I'm not doing that again. Quote: |
We had a good time. Then, we went to Denny's! It was delicious.
| Well, Art's entrée was. *smile* I had fish and chips. The fish wasn't so great, and the chips were pretty plain french fries. I also got an extra side of rice pilaf instead of the coleslaw, and that pilaf was the best thing on my plate.
My drink was good, though. I think it was a Razzdango? Mango and raspberry. And Sprite. Yeah. They have a pretty good drink line.
So that was our day. And I am still up, and feeling rather crappy from that one *$%&^ Mike's. Sigh.
*goes to nuke a croissant*

| That drink sounds AMAZING. I love mango flavoured drinks. I used to drink this drink called Mangor. Mango and orange. I think I was the only reason it stayed around for as long as it did, because I can't find a Mangor anywhere now.
I'm sorry you had bad fish and chips. We take fish and chips for granted down here. |

I'm sorry you had bad fish and chips. We take fish and chips for granted down here. | The drink was pretty good. Not the most mango-y, but not bad. Of course, Art and I have had a real mango not long ago, albeit an overripe, mushy one, but it still didn't taste anything like the mango syrup in my drink. In fact, the overripe mango was still quite delicious, despite being drippy and difficult to cut.
That drink reminds me of something I used to drink. I can't for the life of me remember the name of 'em, but I used to get these little juice boxes all the time when I was a kid. They had Chinese and English writing on 'em, came in a six-pack, and the boxes were different colors depending on the drink flavor. For mango, the box was more of an orange. For the chamomile tea, it was yellow. The soy milk one was white, and I don't remember what the brown one was. But they were insanely good. Fake tasting and everything, but boy did they taste good anyway. Man, now I want one. Urg.
I sort of know what you mean about fish and chips. I used to take fish and seafood for granted. Back in SF, I could go to one of the corner Asian markets and pick up a two-pack of sole fillets for something like $5. Up here, I haven't had fish in ages. I can't find anything fresh for a decent price, it seems. Which is weird, because my college would regularly serve tilapia, so I would think it must be farmed somewhere near here. I just don't know where to go around here to get good fish cheaply. And it sucks, because having a seafood craving is the pits.
Oh yes, another thing about our trek to Denny's. The one in Rocklin has one of those win-a-prize game machines, where you position the claw and have it dig out a stuffed animal for you. Well, Art played maybe twice for fun, and then we saw a certain particular stuffed animal make it nearly all the way to the door. Well, that drove Art crazy. $4.50 later, we have a new Melman. He's the giraffe from Madagascar. Which, if you're like Art and myself and have been following Taylor's blog, is pretty darned funny.
Even better? Melman has a badly leaning neck.
