I'm actually kind of disappointed I didn't see it. There was so much hype and build-up. |

There really was a lot of hype around it. That kind of sucked in a way. I mean, I was anticipating the record-breaking HR too, but I was also watching to see my home team win. (which doesn't freakin' happen often enough) It was quite an event to see live, though. And Barry's little speech was touching, especially when he started breaking down after mentioning his dad. Hate on, haters, but that's the Barry Bonds I see. Quote:

That sucks majorly. At least it was replayed about 2985756439 bajillion times, so it's almost like you were watching it all along.

| Rachel, I think it was you that broke into CGR. You should be ashamed of yourself. |

| So... yeah. CGR malfunction up the wazoo, anyone?
At least a better skin is back on this puppy. I'm glad I took down what information I did when I did, because I just lost all personal data PMs from the last month. Which was quite a bit of info, as we just had MtlFest and all that.
We just had the CGR league fantasy football draft. I'm lucky I even showed up, as I woke up after it had already started and tried to go back to sleep. I remembered it as I was nearly conking back out, and forced myself up and to the lappy. I think I came away with a decent bunch anyhow. Art either forgot all about it or was busy with work, as I didn't see him log in at all. At least we were both smart enough to rank picks beforehand. I know I got many of my first choices.
Anyone heard the new Mae disc? It comes out Tuesday, and is available for listening on their Myspace. I think it sucks crap. They sign with a new label, and suddenly they sound ever more generic. Coincidence?
I need me some food. *heads off*

| I actually was a little upset that bonds broke it. I liked Hank Aaron so much better. I got autographs of both players as a kid. Obviously Hank was not playing anymore, but I remember him. It was at a card show, and I saw him with my dad. I remember he signed my ball and was extremely nice. He actually took a minute to talk to a little kid.
I remember bonds being much more aloof. I don't know. I just never met an athlete as a kid who made a better impression than Hank Aaron. |

| AWwww.
I've never liked Mae much.
And Rach, I do not blame you for breaking CGR. It's hard to control mind powers. |

| I don't feel like clicking multi-quote. So blah to that.
Tim: Hooray for photobucket, huh? Too bad there weren't any awesome cars in that one with us. Or that we weren't in one of those awesome cars ourselves. At least Art's Soobie is other kinds of awesome.
Bill: The first time I saw anything of Hank Aaron was in his congratulatory message to Barry, shown on the Giants scoreboard after the record-breaking HR. As classy as that was and as happy as I was to see that, I really can't comment on what he's like. But I've grown up in SF, so I'm used to seeing good press about Bonds, especially the stuff in the Chronicle showing his sense of humor. Such as on Zito's first day as a Giant, when the two of them wore identical shirts saying "Don't ask me - ask Barry!" And then there's his rapport with his family, his teammates, even the reporters who treat him like a human being and not just their big story. So... I mean if you take into account the whole Balco fiasco and the effect that had on the press who had access to him, it's easy to see why he keeps a certain persona with the reporters. But if you're the average joe (and especially if you're a little kid) who isn't going to question him about 'roids, he's not a bad guy.
Breeners: I have no mind powers. If I did, a heck of a lot would be very different about my life, believe me.
Jon: I loved earlier Mae. Anything is still one of my all-time favorite songs, one that I can listen to multiple times without getting tired of it. But I got a bit upset about their rerelease of their last disc - hello, why am I paying for the same thing again, with three additional songs that aren't terribly good? - and this is just the last straw. They are officially off my "good" list.
Breaking CGR: It should be blatantly obvious by now that if I could've done anything with mind powers, I would have changed other things first. Like the lack of a good Asian food supply around here. Or my mom's attitude. So there.
