guitar pickups

I'm looking to get a pickup for my Big Baby Taylor acoustic. What would be a good one to buy at a good price?

my personal favorite is the K&K pure western. this works great for acoustic settings (plenty of volume with no battery or preamp onboard for). now, if you're going to be playing with a loud rock band you might want to look elsewhere. my other favorite pickup is the b-band ust with the b-band a1 preamp.

i buy from: http://www.samusic.com
great pricing, service, and free shipping within the usa...check out the other pickups they sell there too.

personally i'm a fan of L&R baggs pickups. i have their standard ribbon one and it's great. i'd lvoe to have a dual source one but for most of my applications the ribbon is more than sufficient. you're looking maybe $100 for the ribbon one.

EMG and Duncan have some excellent models of both kinds.

for me personally, there's not any in that range i'd think were really good..BUT there might be some in that range you'd be okay with..i'm just really picky about acoustic sound and have heard a lot of different setups etc. a couple in that range that could be acceptable (though not as good as what i mentioned above) are:
the dean markley sweet spot under saddle pickup. and also the fishman neo-d pickup if you'd like a soundhole pickup that goes in and out (the cord hangs outside of the guitar with this one, it's attached to a long one)..
you can get the neo-d for $50 with free shipping at samusic.com i think.
i'm not sure where to get the 'sweet spot' but it seems the guy i know of that uses them mentions ebay having them for around $30 sometimes..
you may also want to ask this at:

http://acapella.harmony-central.com/...php?forumid=42

the guy i mention who plays the sweet spots in his performance guitars is also a member of that forum.

In terms of electrics, no. You might as well stick with stock.

In terms of acoustics, no. Nothing that will catch the richness of an acoustic. You might as well play an electric.
