I hated this movie so much....I didn't even watch the whole way to the end. It was supposed to be a thriller, but there was no thrill whatsoever.

What are you talking about? Who said it was suppose to be a thriller? It was much more like a psuedo-intellectual, whats life about, what am I doing here, are money and good looks everything sort of film. You're right, there was nothing "thrilling" about it because there wasn't suppose to be anything like that.

i remember seeing this in the theaters and how funny it was when halfway through the movie everyone in the audience was looking at each other saying "what the.....what just happened??!!"
lol i saw it opening weekend.

but from what i can tell, yes Cameron diaz DID die in the car wreck that DID happen. tom cruise was disfigured and that lead to his downward spiral which caused him to kill himself.

jay! can i start asking you random questions in other threads you start now??
lol cpf need you!

What that dude just said. ^^

But the ending of the movie was just crap. Talk about Deus Ex Machina. The ending was a joke and completely ruined the movie for me.

The way that it ended left me staring at the screen wondering if there wasn't something wrong with my video-quality bootleg copy, but I've since seen it on DVD, and it still seemed incomplete.

I think that was the intention, though.

go back and watch the ending...

spoiler

the voice at the end is sofia's... so everything was a dream from the car crash on (in a dream) if it wasn't and david woke up in the 22nd century sofia's voice wouldn't be at the end telling him to wake up. the fact that her voice is telling him to wake up during the whole movie suggests that the whole movie is a dream and that the begining up to the car crash is david recalling the events for his dr. in his dream. so from the car crash on its all a dream within a dream. so what really happened is that david is awakening from his coma at the end with sophia at his side and no contract with LE.

end of spoiler

a great ending. didn't know what was going to happen till the credits rolled... wow

I thought that his dream started when after he went out wearing that mask with Sofia and the other guy (who is in every movie ever but no one knows who he is).

Jason Lee? ...lots of people know who Jason Lee is. He's yet to get solid mainstream popularity, but he's had an underground following since Malrats.

...especially in movies where we kind of encourage it. It gets discussion going.
