Provident Music Group artists garnered a total of nine GRAMMY nominations across multiple categories as announced this week by the Recording Academy.
Provident Label Group artists dominated the Best Pop/Contemporary Gospel Album category with Michael W. Smith (Reunion Records) nominated for the gold-certified Worship Again album, Jars of Clay (Essential Records) recognized for Furthermore – From The Studio: From The Stage, and Third Day (Essential Records) with a nod for its gold-selling Offerings II – All I Have To Give.
Provident distributed labels including Verity Records, New Haven Records, Rounder Records and Windham Hill Records were also recognized with nominations.
Verity Records, the world’s largest gospel label, earned three nominations this year including two nods in the category of Best Contemporary Soul Gospel Album with Again by Donnie McClurkin and Bringing It All Together by Vickie Winans. Verity earned an additional nomination in the category for Best Gospel Choir or Chorus Album with Blessed By Association by John P. Kee and New Life. New Haven Records, also garnered a nomination in this category for the Live In Nashville project by the Chicago Mass Choir. In the Best Southern, Country or Bluegrass Gospel Album field, Rounder Records received a nod for the Wondrous Love album by Blue Highway.
In addition, Peace by Jim Brickman, distributed to the Christian retail market by Provident Music Distribution in partnership with Windham Hill Records, was nominated in the Best Pop Instrumental Album field.
The 46TH Annual GRAMMY Awards will be held on Feb. 8 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles and will be broadcast on the CBS Television Network from 8 p.m.-11:30 p.m. EST/PST. For a listing of all nominees, go to
