Aspectual theory in Koine Greek: Valid?

What are you guys opinions of aspectual theory?

I would like to get some feedback on it, but frankly don't know many people who are that good with the Greek.

It can throw monkey wrenches into some old interpretations and translations, but in a lot of ways what it wreaks havoc on in historical thought it seems to make the scriptures more coherent in the examples I have seen.

If you have no clue what the heck I said, please don't assault and batter me. If you think the theory sucks, tell me. If you love it, tell me. I am not sold on it, but want some feedback

My professor has taught us a good deal of aspectual theory and it seems correct and good to me.

it has some odd implications. My prof was the student of D. A. Carson and well to be blunt it can play havoc on some traditional hermeneutics of certain passages.
