I think the request was looking for something a tad more tangable
| Tangible = Print copy?
Yeah, I kind of gathered that about the request, but I was just wondering what he was looking for.
Music/Guitar Mags aren't what they use to be. And that doesn't even have anything to do with Secular vs. Christian. Rather, I think most guitar mags are just corporate propaganda.

| You might try christianmusician.com. I do not subscribe to the print edition, but the on-line articles are decent. Not just a guitar magazine, though - it also features other instruments, album reviews, artist interviews, etc.

| Well, actually, it wasn't me! No, not me! I didn't do it! I'm innocent!
Actually, I think BikerBoy asked if there were any good Music/Guitar Mags that either catered to Christians, or were at least Christian friendly.

| Another interesting sidenote.
The one thing you might think that the CGR lacks as far as perhaps being considered a cutting edge ezine would be all those great, up-to-the-moment interviews with all your favorite artists.
Perhaps.
But, consider, a lot of those interviews are really more about promoting their albums and what not these days, and don't get as in depth as they could. Plus, they usually have reprints of it on their Artist Website.
Apart from that, the CGR is the best Guitar (et. al.) mag I have ever seen!

| Yeah, that's an excellent idea!
See, we really don't need a monthly newsletter because everything here is so up to the minute.

| honestly as much as i hate to admit it, he has probubly had the greatest impact on the guitar comunity in the 90s. His lack of skill is one reason that many are playing guitar today.

| My favorite guitar magazines are TOTAL GUITAR and GUITAR TECHNIQUES. These are both English magazines with tutorials for different guitar styles, theory, transcriptions and an accompanying CD. They cost about $11.95 apiece, but they're an excellent learning tool, mainly because you can listen to all the examples on the CD.
There used to be a similar American guitar magazine called "How to Play Guitar" published by the Guitar Player folks but it only lasted a dozen issues. You might be able to pick up back issues via the internet. |
