The King is Dead. Anyone hear it yet? It's good. Different from tHoL, but still very Decemberists and very good. I think it officially releases next Tuesday, but if you pre-ordered you may have gotten it already.

I look forward to seeing them next month.

It's my favorite album of theirs by far. tHoL was so depressing and dark, I love the alt. country feel to the new album. I pre ordered my copy and haven't gotten it yet.

I kind of like tHoL for that very reason haha. I like their dark, morbid, poetically tragic stuff. But yes, this was a nice change. Hopefully it gets there soon!

I listened to the new album on the NPR website. Really like it a lot. It seemed a lot simpler, more stripped down.
