But, I'd have to agree with you. However generic the band may be, I think Ben did more for the band, musically. | Hey, it wouldn't be intelligent if it didn't acknowledge it's drawbacks, would it?
Anyway... I like your avvie Jon! |

| My whole outlook on Ben Moody leaving is this:
eh.
I mean, Evanescence is awesome because of Amy Lee, and as long as they don't totally change their musical direction (hey, even P.O.D. didn't do that with their latest) with whoever will replace Ben, I'm thinkin' "it's all good"...really, Ben turned me off to his personality when he decided to come outright and say f*** Christian Music, you know? That's my $.02

| I don't think he completely left the band, Angela, just the tour. I think he'll be back.....eventually.

Also, the core of P.O.D. is more than 2 people. If he wrote most of the music.....things will change if he leaves. Quote: |

| I hate the idea of "christian Music" in the current sense. Do I "turn [you] off?" |

However, I think it was not right at all to disrespect like that. I just thought it was uncalled for. He could at least try and watch his words and act like the Christian he claims/claimed to be.
So who else was on this tour?

I agree about Christian music, but I think the problem is more with the hostility than the word choice. I mean, just cuz you disagree with something doesn't mean you should declare war on it. |

"christian Music" is using Christ's name to sell to a cornered market. That is sick. I wish my beliefs would be my convictions. |

| ben did leave according to their website ben did in fact leave the band. my theory? amy's dating the guy from seether and i don't think ben could handle it after having been engaged to her in the past. I woulda said maybe they asked him to leave due to his complete lack of witness, but i highly doubt they even care anymore. Amy and ben just seemed like might have used the christian market to get into the big time without ever having a real dedication to the Lord, but Rocky and the other guys r from actual hardcore bands (Living Sacrifice, Soul Embraced) who see they're music as a ministry, so all in all i think i feel worse for them cuz they spent alot of time walking with the Lord and now it really looks bad for them to be associated with Evanescence without speaking up even just to verify "hey we're helping some friends, but we still love our savior". I'd really like to hear they're side more than anyone else's cuz even the guys from east west were like "dude we gotta talk to rocky". anyways after that rant, to recap..... yes ben left and i wanna know who filled in for him on the awards last night cuz they refused to have him on camera. i figure it was prolly someone from revis or one of the bands they've been touring with. anyone who has any idea feel free to dispense the masa (that means gossip in spanglish) |

| Where does the website say he left the band? All I see is that he left the tour and they will continue to play shows without him for now.

I'm really confused. Quote: |

| It was Terry Balsamo from Cold. I read an article from mtv.com. I read the article on another message board so I can't really link it. |

#29 | | Algebraic! | i've heard he left the band becuase he hated the way he was being upstaged by Amy even though Ben Moody is Evanescence as far as the music goes (essentially Amy has Gwen Stefani syndrome).
I dont' think Evanescence will be the same, because Ben wrote the music, and him and Amy wrote most of the lyrics. Then again, I dont' think Evanescence is that great in general (it's super-generic rock...I thought the lady vocals were cool at first...but it got old pretty quickly for me). |

| Though I don't think they are that great, I wouldnt' call them generic really. Its radio friendly but they definately have their own unique sound. The girl singer in a psuedo-goth band that uses lots of pianos and all with radio friendly songs. They're certainly unique in that regards. Generic isn't the word at all to describe them in my opinion.
Where did you hear that is why he left the band? |
