Silence - Blindside - Great stuff here, as expected. Cute Boring Love is great, so is Caught a Glimpse, Pitiful, Sleepwalking, Time Will Change Your Heart, etc. Favorite is Caught a Glimpse, definately. What a chorus! Wow. And for $12.99, too. | Doncha love Christian's vocals? Quote: |
topped off by a song co-written by CGR's own Leboman
| wow. I had no idea. Quote: |
Payable On Death - P.O.D. - Haha, I was able to get this used for $10! And it still has the PS2 game and everything in it! SCORE! This disc is so great, all the songs really rock, and Execute the Sounds has such a cool vibe
| YAY, I'm happy. Galen said P.O.D. is great. Quote:
And I'm sure you can guess which two songs are my favorites. | I know!!! SCC is rad.

I should listen to the other songs, but the first four are so rocking... Quote: |

And I'm sure you can guess which two songs are my favorites. | My WMP wouldn't even recognize the CD until recently. It just called itself "Payable On Death (pre-release)", and all the tracks weren't named. Real Player started getting played more often....

Really funny guys and great music go well together. Did you ever check-out Paul Colman Trio? They did the best concert I have ever been to in my entire life (and that's saying somthin' having been to Third Days, Jars of Clay, Audio A. Ragamuffin Band, Newsboys, Skillet, Earthsuit, Tait, Caedmon's Call, and numerous others that I can't think of...) Anyway, it was an outdoor concert that only about 30 other people showed up to. So PC3 took song requests from the crowd, played all sorts of styles (also requested), made-up a song on the spot for a girl who's birthday it was, and were really hilarious! lol! I'm laughing just thinkin' about it! |

| My christmas was way average too - cos I missed my family. Then, when mum called and told me that everyone had been sick and Eddie got sent to hospital after being bitten by a snake, I was pretty stoked that I wasn't home!
Then, yesterday, I went to my grandad's funeral and it was really cool. I was so excited about seeing my family and getting my presents... and THEY FORGOT TO BRING THEM... so, still no presents. I really struck me to the core, this Christmas more than ever before and because I was pretty alone with like 2 presents, the real reason for it all.
Love ya Galen!

With some great lyrics and some good hooks, I really enjoyed this one. Thanks, Leboman and Benj! The Swift - The Swift - Oh man, I thought it would be good, but I had no idea how good it would be! If I had to describe the sound, I would call it... very much like Matchbox 20, only better . Great hooks, lyrics, piano playing, guitar playing, bass playing, and cool drumming, topped off by a song co-written by CGR's own Leboman and a Keith Green cover. W00T! I have to say, if I was to make an album, this is what I would like it to sound like. Well, half this, and half Skillet. Nickel Creek - Nickel Creek - A very good bluegrass disc. Great stuff. I love it. This would be the second time I've ever bought a disc without hearing it first. The Best of King's X - King's X - And this would be the first time I've ever bought a CD without ever hearing anything by the artist previously. I've heard such good things about these guys, that when I saw this in the used CDs, and just had to pick it up. I'm glad I did. King's X rocks.
Galen | Although I AM prejudiced, you did good with The Swift CD. They really have a 70s vibe to their stuff. Part Billy Joel, part Queen, part Ben Folds. The Caedmon's Call CD is great. When you find the extra cash, pick up Derek Webb's She Must And Shall Go Free....talk about wow. Nickel Creek, Aaron Adams likes them a lot, so they must be good. King's X....one of my favorite bands, ever. Ty Tabor is an underrated guitarist. |

His volume swell technique is a well-done cheap imitation of Phil Keaggy's though (I hope I can do as well someday ). Yes, The Swift are very good. Yeah, I just got $35 in Hastings gift cards (which would have been useful on Sunday ) and I might get that today, if they have it (doubtful ). Ha, about my musical preferences, my dad has brought me up to love the music he loves, and he was right smack dab in the middle of the Jesus Movement in the seventies (during which you were born, Lee, if I'm not mistaken), so I grew up listening to Keith Green, Kansas, Kerry Livgren, Phil Keaggy, CSN, The Byrds, etc. Great times, great music (at least from what I've heard Dad say).

| King's X and Phil Keaggy have a history together. Doug and Jerry both played in Phil's backing band before forming King's X. Small world, eh? And Ty got that swell from not only Keaggy, but Ace Frehley from Kiss. Ty gives mad props to those who influenced him and had often explained that his "style" was a combination of his bluegrass influence and those players from the late 60s and early 70s that he listened to. |

| The Derek Webb CD is awesome... my friends play it all the time so I hear it a lot, and I wanna get it so bad, so I'm gonna head out to the store tomorrow to get it. Wedding Dress is a great song. I'm so excited! Also, nickel creek is great... personally, I like the self-titled CD much better than the newer one (which I own but can't think of the title to because I don't listen to it much).
