Intermission on Thursday was good, we had David Burk speaking. Burk's always a good speaker, and he's the one who organizes and heads the mission trips the Intermission crew takes to Africa each year. I've never gone. I want to go this year, but I don't know if I should.
Well. We flew down on Saturday. It was a dusk flight, and so the sun went down just as we left the ground. I had a wonderful view of the sunset from 30000 feet in a clear sky for about fifteen minutes. It was incredible. The colors were so much more brilliant and deep! If you've ever seen a sunset airborne, I think you'll know what I mean.

I was thinking on the flight how God must have designed the air and the properties of gases and fluids to make Bernoulli's Principle and wings work. Praise the Lord! Seeing the Texas landscape from the air at night was amazing as well. To see the world by the light it emits is incredible - there are spaces of deepest black and seas of light - like Houston. I had no idea how
big Houston is (or how accurate Microsoft Flight Sim is

) until Saturday night. Even after flying into and out of Houston many times, I never knew its extent. I also got to see San Antonio from the air (we think) and that was cool, thinking that maybe if I jumped out of the plane I would land on Angela's house.
Sunday morning Mom woke me up after four hours of sleep. She said she thought I wanted to be woken up.

No, it wasn't bad at all, I didn't even get tired until Sunday night.

Sunday was pretty good. In the morning, I watched a couple of church programs, and they were pretty good. The second one was about staying in God's perfect timing, and how unless the Lord builds the house, they labor in vain who labor at all. How true that is. It's also one of the many things I have trouble with. Well, I've got my whole life, and God is changing me one thing at a time.

Praise Him for never giving up!!! \o/
Monday was Granddad's Memorial service. You can find his obituary
here if you want to read it. The memorial service was neato; it was awesome to see and hear how many people were touched by Granddad's life. My thoughts on Don Medlock: Granddad was the most Christlike man I ever met. Full of Grace, he never said anything bad about anyone, but was always encouraging and helpful. Even until the very end, he never lost faith or his wonderful sense of humor. Monday night, we scattered his remains (he was cremated) off the end of the pier at his house where he loved to fish. That big house is going to be so empty for my Grandma now.
Tuesday, everyone went back home. The flight was good, and the drive back to San Angelo was pleasant. And that should catch everyone up.
