Ahh, it all clicks now. I've had numerous arguments with the son of an Anglican minister in Cairns (my former home) about Liturgy and Baptism, among other things. This particular Anglican minister refuses to wear robes during some services, despite the insistence of his Bishop, and defies his bishop (the Right Rev. John Noble, Bishop of North Queensland) in other matters as well. This kid has said that too many Anglican churches in Cairns get caught up in "all the traditions" (i.e. their Liturgy).
His dad was trained at Moore College, in Sydney, which is a "free church" seminary, and not even an Anglican seminary.
He holds a Baptist view of baptism (i.e. that its just a symbol to the community) and sees no real point in infant baptism.
I wanted to tell Troy that his dad ought to be barred from the ministry for flagrantly disobeying his bishop, but I didn't.
