| I tried to reply a long time ago, but my pictures wouldn't attach, so i'm trying again. All of these were taken overseas with a non-digital camera and then scanned with a not-so great scanner, so if they're blurry or whatever, that's why.

| decided to add a little about my pics.
-the pic of the tree with the sunbeams was taken for my senior project, which was on the destruction of nature. i was standing in the yard of a new house in a new neighborhood, and the tree had been planted to "add value" to the home. of course, behind it is where they've cleared out to make more houses.
-the pic of the little boy is my old dorm residence director's son, who is the most precious child. he's an angel. i just decided to take a couple of pics of him while he was playing in our dorm lobby one afternoon. he loves trucks
-the next is a waterfall, in pisgah nat'l forest in nc. i wanted to catch the sun shining thru the trees too but didnt get it as well as i had hoped, but it's still one of my faves.
-the cross gravestones were in a big famous cemetary in asheville, nc. some famous people from nc, like the author o. henry, are buried there. i like the contrasts in the pic.
-the arch is from the remains of the house of some famous war general, i think french-indian war. not sure... cant remember. it was a HUGE house. that's down in what was the basement/cellar area.
-the tracks are near pisgah forest. i originally went to take pics of the bridge that was actually under the railroad bridge. i thought the idea of bridge under bridge was cool, but this turned out to be a better photo. it's getting published in some photography book.
-the guitarist is worship leader jon abel. he's a graduate of my college, has put out a few cd's, and now is leading worship and stuff at a church in tx. he comes back to play with the worship band and do coffeehouses every so often. it was an honor to play alongside him.
-the next is an old mill site. the troft carried water to the water wheel, tho it's so old and rotted out that water mostly fell thru the cracks. some of the icecicles it formed were about as tall as me. that was an awesome sight.
-the next is the moon thru clouds taken one night when there was a hurricane off shore several hundred miles away, making the clouds do all kinds of neat things.
-the last is a stream in the great smoky mountains nat'l park. that's when i was first learning to take pics of moving water so i didnt get the misty affect that well, but most people like that pic.

The second picture is one I took with the same camera about 3 weeks ago. A couple friends and I were hanging out at a coffeehouse and I just kept snapping random photos; most of them being of my friend Carrie who is pictured here. Of all the pictures I took (about 40) this one and one other one are the only two that were of "photographic merit", if you will. The others were more or less just snapshots. I guess when you consider I was just randomly pointing the camera without aiming much then two great photos out of 40 ain't half bad. I had a project in my digital photography class to use effects and text creatively to make a composition. I used this picture because I thought it was cute (she hated me taking all the pictures, though! muahahaha) and captured her personality a lot. I made it black and white and added a sepia tone to it among other effects for the background and whatnot. Took me longer to find the perfect quote than it did to edit the photo, but it turned out really well, so I framed it and gave it to her for putting up with my incessant picture snapping. | Great shot, a banana in the wild! |
