| Hey Guys! Let's make a Chord Progression Encyclopedia!! How's this for an idea.
Let's make a Chord Progression Encyclopedia of every Chord Progression we can find!
For instance, ii-V. If you repeat that a shift it up one degree, it becomes the popular iii-vi-ii-V, often referred to as a Cycle 5.
That could look like Em-Am-Dm-G, for instance, in the key of C Major.
Any ideas?
And, also, don't worry if you don't know the Roman Numeral notation (iii-vi-ii-V) for it. No prob. Just post the actual lettered chord notation (Em-Am-Dm-G) and one of us can translate to the universal roman numeral notation. Cool?
Oh, and Keyboard Freak!! You've gotta get in on this! This is so your piano, . . . er, forte.
(Inside joke)

BTW - I don't want this to become a disertation on various Key applications. Let's keep it to chord progs for now, but if some interesting side note arises from a chord prog, cool, then it connects. Cool? Great! |

| One of my favorites is I - bVII - iv - I.
Try this as an example: D (xx0232) Dsus2/C (x30230) Gm/Bb (x10033) D (xx0232).
Or, in the key of G, substituting v for bVII: G (3x0033) Dm7/G (3x0211) Cm (x3x043) G7 (3x3033).

| vi-I-IV-v
For example, in the key of D:
Bm-D-G-Am |

| Are you serious? Joking? I know that was Church Doctrine, like, centuries ago, but are churches today still operating on that mindset?
What about tritones? LOL!!

| Yes very serious.... minor chords have a "sad" sound to them and the Bible says real christians aren't sad so real christians dont play minor chords. |

| For real!?!
So, Christians aren't capable of a full range of human emotion? Jesus never really wept? That's pretty twisted.
I can imagine a bumper-sticker, "Who needs prozac when you've got Jesus!".
Not even a minor chord as a passing chord? A hymn can't have a serious, dramatic tonality?
Everything has to be sun-shiney?

I guess I don't run in those circles, but years ago I knew people that were/are just how you describe.
