Once upon a time,
way back when,
you loved me
and we where best friends.
Deep down in my heart I knew you were the one
but first I wanted to have my fun.
so I chased other people
and knew you would wait
because you loved me
so I thought it was safe.
But even a fire needs air to live
and I ran off so often you wondered wat I had left to give.

Time went on and you moved away
but we kept in touch untill one day
I turned around and you were gone
and I saw I'd lost you.
I never knew how much I cared
untill you were no longer there,
and then all my mistakes became clear
I should have made my move but I was too scared..
and now I've lost you.

I knew that I had gone too far
when I saw you in another's arms
I know I made you wait too long
because you never knew that it was you I loved
and I know I've lost you.

I know it hurt you to see my with all those other guys
but I never knew I had made you cry,
and I know that other persons made you so happy
but can't you see you were meant for me?
but now I've lost you.

I know I was the one with all those other loves
but they couldn't compare to you in my heart
and maybe if I had told you that once
I wouldn't have lost you.

And I know I am now out of your mind
but you will always be in mine
'cause now its my turn to wait and hurt
because I never realized your worth
but I will dream and hope,hope and dream
that maybe you will someday see
that you and I are meant to be
yeah, you'll forever be in my thoughts
because I know it was all my fault
that I lost you.

lol..don't lt it keep you awake gabe.. I wrote it for a friend who has something like that going on in her life right now..I won't put up her name though, as she might kill me if I did

gosh, that was REALLY awesome!! it had some rough spots, you'll want to be carful that you don't move out of poetry and into regular momolog..
you have a very good rythom, try to keep that throughout the entire poem
