I know most of y'all play with some sort of praise band...... so here's a question I don't think I've asked before. Is your general sound keyboard-led, or guitar-led.... or maybe something else (is there anything else? )??? Also, do you prefer to lead songs on the keyboard..... or just kinda fill-in where needed????? The praise band that I lead is very keyboard driven....... we actually have a piano AND a keyboard player. I really like to lead stuff on keyboard...... but I really like the sound of guitar driven stuff.... especially on fast songs. So... on the fast ones, I switch to a B-3 and try to do little riffs and things in between lines............. how 'bout y'all?

Acually in our band it depends on the song, but I really like both and when the song is led by the base guitar, whoee! it really drives the song!!!

My band used to be guitar driven, but now that we are doing more gospel style stuff, our new leader is relying on me and my keyboard. So for the most part I set the tone with my piano playing. It's nothing fancy, but I just plunk down the funky beat she wants and the others follow.

Most of our stuff is guitar driven...I just follow and plunk. And make stuff up that sounds like it might go.

My church's band is tradionally keyboard led, dating back to when there was nothing but a piano player.

Now, it tends to be piano led except when I'm on guitar, in which case I make the guitar the driving force on those songs that need it (but let the piano lead for other songs).
