| I have a Nikon Coolpix 2000. My only complaint is that the only view finder is the LCD screen. So you can't turn that off so you go through too many batterys |

| I've heard good things about the coolpix, but I've never used one (I don't think I've used any digicam) myself. |

| Yeah, if you have lots of money, get a really nice one. If you don't have lots of money, you can get a good for anywhere between 150-200 bucks. In my experience. |

| I have a Sony Digital Mavica. Sorry, that doesn't help.
I will send you $600 and you can get a digital camera. What is your address and phone number?

Or are you trying to take pictures that you can put in your portfolio? The CoolPix is good for either (depending on what model you get)...I've never owned one but I've used a lot of the models. We use one in my photography class from a few years ago and it still has good picture quality.
I have a Sony Cybershot F707...it's 5 megapixel and has a lot of features for great photography...but it cost 800$ (at the time) and is unwieldy to take to parties/clubs. I would get something from the Canon line now...they are making some great middle-line cameras. |

| If I'm already going to be shelling out enough cash to get a camera, I want to make sure I get a good one. I like taking pictures of friends but also for artistic purposes. |
