The Coolpix line doesn't run too high, and we have a viewfinder in ours. But the LCD doesn't run the battery down as fast as I've seen before. (I'm talking about one minute of usage, and it shuts off. I think it's a Kodak one... avoid them)

I just bought a Nikon Coolpipx 5700! I am really excited about it! I've heard nothing but GOOD GOOD things.

I mean... I don't know if that helps at all. But there are some really great reviews out there.

Man... I am so excited... It should be here in maybe 3 days...

The camera Graham claims as ours is actually mine

It's a Coolpix 775, and it is a good deal from what I have seen so far. I have dropped it twice, clumsy me. Durable, though it does make a louder sound when I turn it on now. :/ I got a 128mb card for 50 bucks and am content with taking all the pictures I need. One downside for me as a PC user is that Microsoft's movie maker doesn't really like the .mov format that the 15-second no sound films the camera makes. I suppose if I got some other program, it'd be cool. I don't use the video that much though.

I have seen some newer Coolpix cameras, like the SQ? It looks a little faster perhaps, which would be one thing I would want. Speed is decent on mine, resolution goes pretty high too.
