Fervent Records’ best selling band, Big Daddy Weave, debuts at No. 2 this week on SoundScan’s Christian Retail Chart with its critically acclaimed sophomore project, Fields Of Grace.
Also listed at No. 8 with the new album and No. 89 with its 2002 freshman bow, One And Only, on the Current Contemporary Christian chart, Big Daddy Weave joins the ranks of Amy Grant, Third Day, tobyMac, MercyMe and Bill and Gloria Gaither as one of six artists to have two projects on that chart. Currently available to the general market only via Internet sales, Fields Of Grace further claims No. 9 on the combined Christian and general market chart and the No. 7 position as a Billboard “Heatseeker,” becoming the highest charting Christian album this week on this Billboard chart.
"Big Daddy Weave and Fervent continue to be blessed with the response to Fields Of Grace from consumers and retail,” says Susan Riley, CEO, Fervent Records. “The band has always been amazing, and in the last year and a half, they have enhanced their ministry in every way to connect with fans. Radio remains extremely loyal, as well, making “Fields of Grace” the fastest-charting song for the band yet. We are very grateful to everyone who is supporting the band!"
Big Daddy Weave’s title cut and first single, “Fields Of Grace,” continues to climb the Christian Adult Contemporary (AC) and Christian Hit Radio (CHR) charts. Named as a “Christian AC Most Added” this week, the song garners a top-15 position on R&R’s AC, as well as a top 20 spot on its CHR, charts. To further support the album at radio, Big Daddy Weave’s “Completely Free” is currently going for adds at Inspo.
Demonstrating the heart behind Big Daddy Weave’s ministry, Fields Of Grace is produced by the band’s own Jeremy Redmon and Mike Weaver. The album embodies one’s personal journey with God and captures the style of how one would hear Big Daddy Weave live. Fields Of Grace is currently being supported by a major, 46-city tour with FFH, running nationwide through late November.
Out of 108 new artists released last year in the CBA market, Big Daddy Weave was the only one to debut in the Top 5 at Christian SoundScan®, become the best selling “New Artist of the Year” Dove nominee and appear on WoW Worship Yellow and Dove Hits 2003. Additionally, Big Daddy Weave’s first single, “In Christ,” became the highest charting AC single for a new artist in 2002 and “Audience Of One” topped Christian Radio Weekly’s CHR chart this summer, becoming the first ever No. 1 single for both the band and Fervent Records.
