dark rooms and hot irons

Have you ever walked into a room, after dark, closed all the windows and doors, and then turned out the light? right at first,it seem really dark, and you cant see anything! but then,if you stay there for a minute, your eyes start to adjust to the darkness, and pretty soon, your able to see! The room is still as dark as always, but your eyes have become used to it.

Thats how it is with our conscience. when we do something, that we know is wrong, the first time around, our conscience starts screaming at us,and guilt sets in,big time. But then,we give in a second time around, and we still feel bad,but not quite as bad. Then the third time,we start thinking "Well, its not that bad".And pretty soon,we dont even think twice about it. Has the sin changed? No,we,just like our eyes, have just become used to it.
Paul,in 1 Timothey 4:1 & 2 says : "1. The Spirit clearly says that in later times some will abandon the faith and follow decieving spirits and things taught by demons.2. Such Teachings come through hypocritical liars, whose Conscienses have been seared as with a hot iron.......

1 Peter 5:8 says " Be self controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for some one to devour." We have to watch out,and make sure that we dont allow our conscience to get schorched.
