Recording through a Boss GT3

Hey all, my Boss GT3 just came in and I was wondering if I could record through it....like: guitar -> GT3 -> adaptor -> computer (via 1/4 inch cords). I have the cakewalk Music Creator software but I'm just worried about screwing up my sound card. I've never recorded before, so I dont know much about this, just heard a few things from a Radio Shack guy.

If not that setup, then I might be able to rig up my practice amp to go through the computer (it has a headphones jack). Can anyone tell me if either one of these setups is possible without messing up my sound card? Thanks and peace

Max

You won't hurt it at all, it just won't sound as good as a mic in front of your amp would.

It will be fine, just plug it into the line in of the sound card.
