Question Randall RG200ES questions

Hey, I just purchased a 91 Randall RG200ES 120 watt head and I have a few questions. Well actually I guess I have quite a few. First, there is a jack on the back called "signal output" what exactly does it do? Secondly it says 120 watts at 4 ohms, and the two speaker outs say 8 ohms, does that mean that it is putting 60 watts out each speaker jack? Also, can a guitar head, such as my Randall, be used to amplify a bass if you had a bass cab? Also, do you think I could use a PA cab that has a 15' speaker and a 4' horn with it? Any opinions welcome.

In Him,
Tim

The signal output (or "Diresct Output") is where you would hook the amp up to a PA system, or another amp, or something like that. Yes, all guitar amps can be used to amplify basses, unless they are extremely low wattage (less than 10 watts). You can hook the amp to the cab, as long as the cab has the same ohm rating, or higher (8 ohms, 16 ohms, and up), but you need to be careful that you don't distort the P.A. cab speakers. They are "high-fidelity" speakers, which, unlike instrument speakers, cannot handle more power than they are designed to handle.
